I would consider some one who uses controller for at least RTS less of a PC Gamer. If some one buys a "race car" but always drives it at low speed no matter what conditions, I would not really consider him a "racer" (apologies for the poor choice of words)
I would say there are quite a few influential series/games besides these. From the top of mu head - Angry Birds (or some other smartphone game before that which influence smartphone game and even other apps), HappyFarm/Farmville/civtyville/? (which influenced facebook games), MCF Series (which influenced so many HoG)

Just curious, without gaining largest market share , how else would they "take over the gaming industry" or "take over the majority of the gaming market" ?
Taking over gaming as a whole, rendering every other Pubs as obsolete.

Really enjoyed torchlight even without the online. This , Diablo 3 and grim dawn all have their own attractions and now I way I will miss out on any of these.
while i did enjoyed a lot of games this year particularly shogun, portal 2 and witcher 2 (yet to play Dues Ex 3), but the game which I enjoyed the most was frozen synapse, probably because it surprised me the most (and I really like TBS games)
