@tevic All very compelling reasons to not buy and Xbone. You know.. to be honest I don't have a problem with the 24 hour connection mandate. As most people say, the 360 is connect anyway.. Hell, so is my TV. What I have a problem with is the forced authentication, which goes into what you were saying about MS having obscure (or no) reasons to simply wipe your account. I think that's a bunch of crap. I feel that if I buy something, it's mine. Period.

@DakuhiroUzumaki @tevic @CustomPCDesktop You're right, but you can still play offline, even if the servers go down. Sony isn't going to brick your system. MS can and will do that if they see fit.

@sexyeyes79 @Tjean101 Sexyeyes79 has a point. No other item besides software has this issue. Even other copyrighted items like CDs, DVDs and books. When you buy something, you should own it, period. You should be free to modify it how you like, because it's yours. And, yes, you should be able to resell it when you want, for the amount you think is fair, and without any legal entanglements. What Microsoft and devs/publishing companies are doing is a thinly veiled grab for more money. This IS America, and we expect companies to go after the bucks, but this is a step too far. They're hiding behind copyright laws while saying they need to get paid. If I buy a chair, the guy who designed it, the workers who built it, and the company that sold it have no say in what I do with it once the original transaction is complete. IT'S. MY. CHAIR. I don't see how software is any different. TBH, software ISN'T different, it just happens to have a set of copyright laws written for it that are outdated. Imagine if Ashley Furniture told you that you can sit in the chair you bought, but you don't "own" it. You can let your friends sit in it, but only if you've known them for 30 days. And, once a week, you had to upload a pic of it to a server to show that you aren't renting out the chair, etc. NOBODY would buy into that. It's ridiculous, and so is what Microsoft is doing. Fan boys just can't admit to it.
