@phbz @vadagar1 Exactly this, it's not consoles hurting the industry it's the publishers/devs playing it safe and the ppl buying into it. Stop buying the products and developers will be forced to try something new and different. PC has a huge Indie/kickstarter scene where they do have the balls to go a different direction, but don't quite have the funds to make anything to push the hardware. Because of this we're stuck in gaming limbo. I miss the 90s and early 2000s where PC and console were completely separate. PC had an extensive list of exclusives, the graphics, substance. Consoles had their own thing going with plenty of their own exclusives, it's all multiplat trash now.

@fabs1 Titanfall, Watch Dogs and Destiny, that's $180 I'm glad I didn't waste. Don't buy into the hype is the lesson learned here. I hope ppl learn any way, the more these products sell the more we'll see and get nowhere with mediocrity.

@mrsutnak Sad but true. It's clearly a garbage game, but because $$$ makes the world go round we'll see another of these turds on the horizon. Well, hopefully Bungie at least sees what a lackluster product they have on their hands and makes some significant changes for the next time.

@mrsutnak sad but true, ppl will always buy into the hype. I just hope Bungie realizes the lackluster product they have here and fine tune the next release or just release a new IP altogether.

@axelx666 @billlabowski Intellectual Property, Watch Dogs is a brand new IP from Ubisoft. A new game basically, not a sequel or reboot, a whole new game

@princetom @monkeyluv101 I agree with what you're saying, that is if the story actually delivers, I'll have to reserve judgement until I actually play through it, but at the moment a lot of the reviews say the story is it's weakest part.

@princetom So the 13 other reviews that gave this game lower than a 9 should also go to hell then? Dude, out of 17 reviews only 3 are 9's, everyone's pretty much in agreement over this game being the same ol same ol without bringing anything new to the table. Calm down.

@maxwell97 @monkeyluv101

Yes gameplay wise I agree , I did in fact play it with free aim on hard, I just meant it was very cinematic. There were parts where you you could've been playing with narrative taking a back seat or being in the background. I mean it took like 10 minutes before I was actually playing the game. Had it been a RPG I'd understand, but an action game, come on. The 1st 2 games everything was played out with some comic strip cut scenes that's it.

@push88

That was well put push88. I agree that not all games will cater to all, RPGs are def not for everyone, fighting games, sports games etc. Different strokes for different folks. Still though games have changed quite a bit since the originals of such franchises as Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Resident Evil, it was gameplay over anything else and I liked that. Sure I understand bringing new ppl to the table but there needs to be balance. As for Splinter Cell yes it should be stealth over action, but that just doesn't seam to be the case anymore or at least not like the 1st 3 games, where you relied on shadows and ammo was minimal. Everything seams to be getting faster paced and too actiony to cater the casual gamer and A.D.D croud.

Excellent article agree 100%. As has been said before good thing we have games like Demons Souls, Elder Scrolls, Dragons Dogma etc. This cinematic style is killing gaming. Button prompts and such are just ways of holding your hand over actual gameplay for casual gamers who want a hollywood action sequence in their gaming experience. Max Payne 3 a good example, COD a criminal example (they just go to far) and recently Splinter Cell especially the new one with the execute mode where it kills everything in site for you. How about letting gamers just aim and use their own skill for a change. A lot of gamers have been gaming since the NES days and don't need their hands to be held, also casual gamers should be comfortable enough by now to be challenged.
