@dinosaurpants: I agree. Anyone who is involved in this movie knows the target audience: 30-year olds who see this as pure nostalgia (me) and young kids who like flashy pow-pow-pow. The difference with Jurassic World is that this movie doesn't have any actor with the pull of Chris Pratt wearing tight trousers (Bryan Cranston is a talking wall and nobody knows what Elizabeth Banks looks like when she's not wearing a costume).
How is GTA V still 30 dollars during a flash sale? This is a game that was released 4 years ago on last-gen consoles and which has already sold 75million copies. I've been waiting forever for this game to hit 20 dollars (every time I just keep thinking: well, probably next time). Anyways, kudos to them for still topping the charts! The price will probably go down once GTA V doesn't make the top 10 anymore.
@RS13: Thank you! Yes, I should've probably stated my expectations as well. I've been playing games on consoles all my life and for me graphic quality is not THE most important thing (as in: I have never seen true 4k).So yes, I'm ok with console quality. I am just looking for a PC like this that I can hook up to my HDTV so I can play some video games that have only been released for PC, watch movies and videos on a bigger screen, etc. Now that I know the output would be the same as what a console gives, I can consider getting a PC.
@sellingthings: Thank you for the explanation! Yeah, I remember my old TV set didn't like getting hooked up to my laptop (incompatible screen resolutions + no drivers to solve the problem).
I have a maybe/probably stupid question for pc gamers: what is the difference between hooking up your pc to a monitor and hooking it up to a HDTV. I have a TV, so logically I'd use a HDMI cable to hook up a pc to my TV screen (that a couple of hundreds dollars saved on a set up). But I often hear people say you should buy a decent monitor for your pc. I can understand this if you have a high end 4k rig, but would a HDTV do for a 'cheap' rig like the one stated here?
These kind of media/online witch hunts are getting ridiculous. These days you could find a cure for cancer and people would still find something to criticize you for. I don't really have an opinion about PewDiePie or his channel, and the situation was maybe a little bit poor in taste. But people are acting as if they never made a distasteful joke about a different race or religion (ok, most of us don't do it on the world's most popular youtube channel).
That being said, PDP has been doing this long enough to know what could happen pulling a stunt like this. He has made a lot of money and has a lot of experience, if I were him I'd retreat from the limelight and start working as a manager for online channels/stars/companies.
@cornbredx: I totally agree, for people who don't have much to spend, this is a decent deal. Or maybe they just want an inexpensive second screen for the bedroom or something. This article is condescending as F, especially with the quote "Reviews on Walmart's website are surprisingly positive overall, although, buyers likely shouldn't set their expectations high for such a cheap TV." Then again, if I'd be working for GS, I wouldn't even trust my own reviews anymore.
