@Xristophoros: I guess it's still considered a niche game, not very well-known, virtually no advertising, and the 70 EUR price tag doesn't make it exactly inviting either. Also, many people might have put their money toward the Nintendo Switch. If anything, I'm actually surprised the game is doing this well in the US and the UK. I bought it only because I had a PS store discount voucher, if not, I would have waited until a decent price reduction.

Awesome news for the Playstation division. They did a great job with getting developers on board and releasing a lot of great titles.

That said, Sony should just face the music and shrink/close their digital camera and smartphone divisions already. For digital cameras, most people use their smartphones and professionals will probably buy other brands. For smartphones, there is too much competition from everywhere: people either want Apple or Samsung, or they want a cheaper Android phone (I'm mainly looking at Chinese brands here). It's kind of like when they closed their VAIO laptop division. Sony is a good and reliable brand, but its nor the (perceived) best neither the cheapest.

It looks like their TV line is still doing well, though (even though I assume it gets a lot of competition from Samsung).

@Rufus_the_rat: I don't think most people mod their NES classic to play the NES catalog, though. If you know how to mod a console, you also know how to download an emulator on your computer. Also, the NES Classic is hardly a threat to Switch Virtual Console: people buy the same thing over and over all the time (games for PS3 ported to the PS4 sell like hot cakes) and Nintendo knows and practices this as well (many people buy multiple versions of Pokemon and Fire Emblem).

That said, maybe it's time they actually released the goddamn Virtual Console for Switch instead of complaining about 'not having unlimited resources'.

At least I'm happy everyone in the comments agrees that Reggie and Nintendo are full of bulls*** once again. Discontinue a successful product in order to promote something no one asked for (I'm looking at you New 2DS XL). Is everyone in their marketing department getting high by licking Switch cartridges?

"... the Afrosword, which is based on DJ Afrojack equipment. As you can see in the announcement video above, it looks pretty cool..."

Yes, to a 6-year-old.

That's a lot of sales. I hope this convinces third party developers to make/port games to the Switch as well. Because no matter how much I love Nintendo games, 2 decent titles a year is not enough to justify the purchase of a console to me.

And please bring Virtual Console to the Switch and let us enjoy Wii and WiiU titles. PS4 and XBOX ONE have an entire back catalog of either ported or remastered games from previous generations, and people are happy to buy those. Wii and especially WiiU titles on the Switch would sell like hot cakes.

As a fan of the original Mass Effect trilogy (yes, even after the ME3 ending debacle), all of the PR for this game has been very anti-climactic so far: the negative PR has been overshadowing the (limited and lackluster) advertising campaign. Everything out of EA/Bioware's mouth so far has been nothing but damage-control for a game that hasn't even been released yet.

I am hoping for good reviews, but I currently have so many games in my back catalog that I could skip this one until the holiday sales if it turns out otherwise.
