I've been playing BF since 1942 on PC, have yet to come across a single hacker.

Are you sure they aren't just really good w/ mouse? You would be impressed what pros can do with it, this isn't some stupid thumbstick.

A lot of people get called cheaters when they are even half decent.

Pretty much all my friends that game, and myself, have been called cheaters in battlefield just because you get a solid K/D or score. lol

A true cheater however would have an insane score, and pull off insane shots that are only doable when using hacking software.

The difference is in the details.

Cheaters are extremely rare in Battlefield games, but I have run into a couple of them. That's over the course of 1000+ hours in all the games combined, though, so it really is a non-issue.

I've already seen more cheaters in Escape from Tarkov, and I've only put like 40ish hours into that game.

In Battlefield Vietnam, and BF4 it got so bad I switched over to console. Some of my favorites are the ones where the person is invisible, but you could see the floating gun. There is also one where the person could basically fly. And the ever so popular aim bot. So far in BF5 I have not seen anything. Just your standard guys who are freakin' incredible.

Almost forgot the invisible cheat. That one wasn't used much from what I understand because you got caught fairly quickly.

Here is a good video that shows some of them.

Edit: Looks like it has already made it into BF5.

Clive Barkers: Undying. Might not scare me now, but back in the day....freaked me out.

Runner up - Silent Hill.

@zaryia: Yes. I have actually seen messages put on the screen "kicked for cheating"..(Check out youtube for some great ones caught on video). Also, I spoke to a person at work who admitted to me he uses aim bots. He had not shame in the fact either. If you check out youtube you can see examples that show issues. I doubt you will see much this early on for BF5, but lets hope it stays that way. I decided to get it on the PC, and don't see anyone cheating thus far. One guy with 39 - 1, but it was because he was a bad arse.

I doubt this is an issue any longer, but I remember in BF Vietnam I would hid int he tall grass or similar. People seemed to have no issue seeing me. Found out it was because you could reduce the graphics and it would remove the foliage. Not a cheat, but uncool to say the least.

Should I get this on the PC or PS4? The reason I ask....

I loved BF4. Might be my most played game...then the cheats starting to roll in. A guy at work even admitted to me he had an aim bot going while playing. At this point I started playing most games on the PS4. I might not be as good as I have to use a controller, but I never feel there is any cheating going on. I did try BF4 again about a year ago, and it was still filled with cheating. I am torn. Better controls, but possible frustration, or less cheating but worse graphics and controls.

This will probably give away my age, but remember Real Sports Baseball for the Atari 2600. I thought..."It doesn't get any better than this".

@warmblur: What about fast travel between towns you have already visited? Ex. You head out of your camp and find Town A then you trot over to Town B. You decide you missed something at Town A and would like to go back. Can you fast travel. I am assuming the answer is "no" from the responses, but I can't fathom a huge open world game would have a dumb down fast travel integration. If the answer is "no" I may pull the trigger on Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I love AC: Origins (and it has fast travel :))_

You can only fast travel from your camps to towns you visited you can't fast travel any other way.

Thanks for the info. I was looking forward to this game, but guess I will pass :(.

Things I love about about RDR2 and things I hate.

Love

  • Landscape
  • Graphics
  • Animations.
  • Characters
  • Story
  • Attention to detail
  • Gun battles

Hate

  • No way really to fast travel back to your camp gets very tedious after awhile
  • Having a Bounty on you and having to pay for it
  • Controls aiming is frustrating at times and pulling out items sometimes just doesn't seem to register
  • Game never tells you when it's saving unless I'm not seeing it?

Please tell me you are joking!!!. They don't have a standard fast travel system in a "huge, open-world" game? I heard someone say it didn't, and then someone corrected them saying it did. If there is not a standard fast travel system there is no way I am picking this up. If anyone can verify I would appreciate it as I was thinking about picking it up this weekend.

Which system should I get this game on. Looking at PS4 or PC? I am not sure how good my pc specs are, and if I would get better then I would with the PS4. Here is my info:

PS4: On a 50" 4K TV with a couch to sit on.

PC: On a 28" 4K monitor with an office chair to sit on.

Specs: CPU=i5-4670, 8GB Ram, GTX1070 8GB, 256GB SSD, but game will be installed on a 1GB 7200RPM dirve. Windows 10.

I would assume I would get better performance on my PC, but not sure with semi old specs if there would be much of a difference to negate a larger screen and more comfortable seat....and surround sound.
