@frozenux @NaturalDisplay I was unimpressed with FFXIII at first but grew to love it at the end of Chapter 9 and onward. Traditional Final Fantasy ended on PS2, but all of FFXIII's components come together to make such an engrossing experience. Hamauzu and combat are to thank.
I'm honestly taken aback by this. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Galaxy. This is a direct build off of 3D Land, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Keeping my fingers crossed for another Galaxy-esque epic on Wii U.
This issue wouldn't arise if it weren't necessary to install the games onto the HDD in order to play them. Keep the digital market for HDD installs, and the necessary physical market for slap-in-and-play.
Don't mend those two options, Microsoft. We gamers like options. And we'll all have the option to purchase the Xbox One because of this fact.
Video games are, for me, not an escape, but a reinterpretation of art. It's an expression, with the dynamics of other media that coalesce (hopefully in some subjectively satisfying degree) into one whole. Some games explore familiar themes, which makes each journey and reinterpretation a redaction from other emotions.
Video games are a dynamic interpretation because they're many-sided, and individuals play them for whatever artistic expression that may satisfy and help fill what's thought to be missing.
It's a beautiful longing, a peregrination into either familiarity or mystery -- or both. <3
