Extremely well done game, polished with superb visual side. This one is a mix of Far Cry 3 & Uncharted with some RE4 feeling. Controlling Lara's movement while running through wilderness, caves, tombs, climbing and jumping is very natural and feels even more smoothly than in ACIII, where I have found some glitches/errors from time to time. Tomb Rider is a great action game with some survival feeling and exploration. The switch from lock on shooting type to the new TPS style system works really well, each encounter with your foes is very brutal and engaging. Absolutely love the graphics - the landscapes are amazing, with stunning visuals - mountains, watefalls, rivers, caves and villages. With each new location you want to stop and just look around and admire the views. This game will keep you all the time at the edge of your seat, pushing you to play for hrs and wordering what will happen next. my score is 10/10
I had so much fun with Dead Island and whereas this looks almost same like the first game, definately going to jump in again into the zombie apocalypse!
OK, now Im in chapter 15 and absolutely love the game, looking forward to finalize it and then play the new game+ classic mode, for the better DS experience. This game is pure fun and still the thrill is there - I am playing Solo campaing during night time on 50" TV with home-cinema surround system and for sure the creepy atmosphere is there. Again this one is not the same pure horror experience as in DS1 when you needed to explore the dark, creepy locations of the Ishimura starship, it is more like horror/adventure with some more action but still with a lot of creepy, dark corridors/rooms mixed with outside areas - with atmosphere similar to John Carpenter's "The Thing", with limited view due to permanent snow storm and necromorphs jumping out from the ground...The gameplay is very smooth giving you great control of each Isaac's movement, mostly you will fight the necromorphs with some soldiers occasionally, as I have mentioned ealier the weapon crafting is fun, no need for microtransactions, I stick to two or three favourite guns which are working well against any enemy. This game is a blast, will keep you at the edge of your seat from the beginning, would recommend it to any action/horror game fan!
amazing game, currently Im in chapter 6 and love every second of it! Maybe less scary than DS1, but still has an amazing atmosphere (on the level of DS2) while improving in some areas and extending the exploration. Weapon crafting is fun, no need for microtransactions.
@Kaz32 Last two months Ive finished RE6,Dishonored,ACIII and now playing Far Cry 3. All great games whereas the biggest let down for me (concerning above mentioned) was the ACIII (versus my expectations and the overall hype about it) -still it doesnt change the fact that it is a solid game. I had so much fun with Dishonored and spent more than 30hrs with it. RE6 was a great adventure as well, especially Leons/Ada campaigns. But after clocking almost 20hrs in Far Cry 3 this one is definitly the GOTY for me. Simply amazing. Going backwards I would also mention Mass Effect 3, Sleeping Dogs and Max Payne 3 (all top games of 2012 in my books). I still havent had a chance to play Halo 4 or Binary Domain but will grab one of these in coming weeks.
First quarter of 2013 also looks interesting as the next chapters of Dead Space,Gears of War,Tomb Rider and Crysis are coming. I would also notify here Dead Island Riptide which looks amazing.
