THIS is what kickstarter is all about. Games that would never have made it out of the gate under traditional methods with a publisher. Games that appeal to older gamers. Games that are made because the creators WANT to make them..... not to hit targets, maximise sales and appeal to the 'mass audience'. It's never been a better time to be a PC gamer.

Saying Kickstarter is a scam is a little harsh. I admit, it must be pretty easy to fleece backers and I'd be interested to see how much of the cash raised goes into pockets vs. development for some of the more dubious campaigns.

BUT

if it weren't for Kickstarter, I wouldn't be playing Divinity Original Sin. That would be bad. I wouldn't be looking forward to Wasteland 2, Project Eternity, Hyper Light Drifter, Star Citizen etc as they wouldn't get green lights from publishers. I am pretty sure these games will be completed professionally and will be pretty damn good.

Use your head before backing projects. There are plenty of projects which deserve backers and are run by reputable developers. And then there's this.

This looks interesting, but I didn't watch the video as I am absolutely sick to fucking death of watching the un-skipable Mario Kart 8 advertisement that I have been forced to watch 391 times.

I'm not really into online games but hits looks pretty good... and I love final fantasy. Can I enjoy this on a casual basis playing say once a week for 4 or 5 hours?

can anyone recommend a tabletop rpg for a first timer? This vid has really influenced me and I'd like to host a night with friends? something with a great story and easy to get into? any help appreciated
