@nyran125tk That's exactly why you do this, so that you can get copies of these titles early by having people get an upgraded version of them in return, while having a ton to sell to those who aren't buying next-gen consoles now.

@DawgByte2 Actually no. Not for the crowd that plays those games. There is midnight releases for those titles with lines going down the sidewalk. You get to play the game with your friends online while they are all playing it and whenever the next consoles come out you can upgrade the title for $10. How many people would go out and rent the game just to play it with their friends. Game Stop knows the audience they are dealing with here. Waiting patiently really is kind of opposed to the whole notion of being an early adapter.

This is how you do it. Watch and learn; evil genius at work.

They just convinced people who weren't going to buy 360 copies of the game to go ahead and buy in, AND they get used copies of the top titles on shelves faster by having those games traded in for next-gen titles.

@Zloth2 @lance_7 If it was a "show stopper" it wouldn't have an 8 rating. He gave the game an 8, but reading the review it doesn't sound like an 8. That is the point. The write up doesn't reflect the score so one is off, and what looks to be off is the write up.

I looked at the scores but didn’t want to read the reviews until I finished the game to avoid spoilers.Man Tom, you sucked writing the review for this game. You scored it correctly yet harped more on the negative rather than highlight the positives of a great game. This was one of the best looking games of this console generation and you call the graphics ho-hum.The combat system was one of the bright spots of the game, but you focus on the minor issues that many won’t pay any attention to while playing it.The story was one of the best told in a game of this type and the only thing you focus on is Elle.Joel had great character growth through the course of the game as well. The beginning tells the story of how he became sour and bitter, but by the end he grows into more than that (trying not to give anything away here).

You’re better than this Tom, and the game deserved a better review than the lame effort you gave here. Were you depressed when you wrote this?

We debate this subject on the same website that has mostly male reporters, but had Anne Prosser Robinson doing most of the E3 video interviews... I wonder why...

I think we should all get together and focus on banning Halloween. Too many naughty nurses, sexy devils, and women running around in cheerleader outfits. It is completely objectifying and humiliating to women and it should be censored. Then we can focus on getting rid of lingerie shops. Victoria can keep her secret to herself! Then we can make sure to get rid of Fast and Furious. They always seem to have some hot chick to objectify in those movies. Then we can make sure Scarlett Johansson is no longer allowed to wear tight outfits on screen. Complete objectification. We can do this!

@9Dguy I don’t think anyone who bought the game (which I didn’t) was confused about the fact that this was a girl running around in a cheerleader outfit fighting zombies. The funny thing to me is that there is a complaint when women continue to be seen as the helpless victim, but when there is a female protag they have to be presented in a way that downplays they are female. This character that would normally be stereotyped as the ultimate victim and most helpless, the high school cheerleader, is running around as the empowered hero. Yet empowering the one most would see as the most helpless is seen as a negative.

This game appealed to a niche group of people. I don’t see anything wrong with that. It was advertised as what it was. I didn’t go watch 300 complaining about the guys running around with no shirt on. Would it have made much more sense for those guys to have on some form of armor? Yes. Would it have appeal to as many women? No. Guys got their violence, women got some flesh peddling, and all were happy. Let creators create and consumers decide what they want to consume.
