I've never understood the 'attack people who don't have the same vested interest as me' mentality. Isn't that sorta what the cliche bully did in high school? You got made fun of for having different clothes or being different...why continue the negativity with attacking people for liking a different game? They are still playing video games, it's a community. Instead of attacking them either join in or play your games in hope that they may join in with you. Certainly don't alienate them for the sake of varying opinions; that's the ultimate sign of immaturity in the gaming world.

@XxTheEvilxX I have this sneaking suspicion you didn't read/comprehend the article yourself. In no way does the article state any of your qualms with F2P but in fact tackles the core players reluctance to do F2P with all things equal. He's basically stating that even if F2P could (and sometimes is) be a better value for individuals, since you wouldn't need everything, you would still garner mistrust on the basis that the gamer feels he is being excessively charged for individual things. I think it's by far a more psychological issue than a monetary one.

Ex1: I purchase a $60 dollar game everything is unlocked I have 20 different guns, 10 different vehicles, 3 locations. I can unlock stuff free of actual monetary retribution after the initial purchase. I never even use half of the guns due to lack of interest or high learning curves.

Ex2: I download the same exact game for free. start with 1 location, 5 guns and 2 vehicles. Each subsequent gun cost a reasonable fee along with new vehicles. Or you could purchase a pack with a new location, 5 new guns and 3 new vehicles. That would still be a F2P model however you (in theory) could save money if you only chose the ones that interested you specifically.

These systems could live side by side. As long as the core experience isn't taken away from and the guns don't grossly outmatch ones available why would you need to pay such a high up front cost? Few other markets make you pay such a high up front fee without first experiencing their product; why should games be any different?

@Truth_Hurts_U That's a good question. I would be incline to speculate that the PS3 media remote works on the same band and has the same encryption as an actual ps3 remote since it can't really discern from the two. Seeing as the PS3 and PS4 controllers are not compatible possibly due to different bandwidths and encryption styles I would speculate that they are in fact not compatible. Purely speculative though, if that's the case maybe a firmware update could remedy that...

My smart phone does that...and the camera is on only when I want it to be. However the mic is probably always on...you know so the NSA can hear my conversations. ;)

@Pilgrim117 I agree with the sentiment of purchasing it if released for the PS4. I have no future plans to spend 900 bucks for two consoles and I've generally stuck with Playstation. Here's to hoping that seeing a sales opportunity is enough to drive them to either make it multiplat or release a sequel that is.
