The problem I see here is that older gamers like myself-yeah, I had an Atari when it was new(ish)- are the only ones mad about this. On the whole I mean. Every one of us grew up playing complete games out of the box (except E.T.) and can remember when you bought a game and it was yours, or you could take it back because it sucked or trade it off to a friend (Metal Gear for Zelda on nes...my worst trade i think).

Most of today's gamers are younger, and have become gradually accustomed to being nickeled and dimed and restricted by various "protection schemes" over the years. They aren't mad and they outnumber us older folks. They don't see the problem because to them thats just the way it is.

Sorry for the book.

My pc makes my consoles look like total crap anyway.

Oh and my brother calls Gamestop "video game nazis" which I find freaking hilarious.

@CraigNinten @suplax Funny you should say that, as I went to update my 3ds the other day and the warning read something like, "if you hack this or use try to use unlicensed hardware, yer stuff will get broke permanently." I declined the update.

@JimmeyBurrows I understand what you mean. Look at it this way, if they are hacking to cheat, say to beat you at a game, then yeah that's annoying, but if it doesn't actually affect your property, you know like messing up your save or causing your system to overheat and die, then using software to physically damage the hardware you paid money for is kind of like punching someone in the face for calling you a name.

@jookiyaya Thats not fair, thats retarded. Sony can ban me if they like, but don't screw up my stuff. Hacked software isn't by definition illegal anyway. Some of the things you can do with hacked software is, but that isn't the point. Some of the things you can do to legal firearms is illegal too. Can Ford screw up my car because I mounted a Chevy rear end to it? BTW, my console is 100% stock, but I can understand the side of the hackers as well.

Its my console so if I want to hack it, I should be able to. In the same spirit, PSN is Sony's Network, if they want to ban my hacked console from that network, they should be able to as well.
