@DepressiveMan Fine, it's a game, and according to this review, the game play in this game warrants two sentences of description in nine paragraphs.

Again, I'm criticizing the review for not telling me why I should play this "game" which is apparently worthy of an 8/10 rating. Tell me why I should spend money on this "game" instead of just going and watching a beautiful movie or reading a great book. Tell me in the review what makes this "game" fun to play other than walking around and somehow being emotionally moved by it's haunting atmosphere.

If it's a game, and this is a review of the game on a gaming website, then please give me more than two sentences in nine paragraphs that describe the game play.

One of two things is true: Either two sentences is all that's really needed to describe the actual game play, which means this isn't much of a game at all, or this game has much deeper game play which the reviewer just didn't bother to talk about, which makes this a horrible review. Again, for the third or fourth time, I'm criticizing the review, not the game. I don't need to play the game in order to criticize the review. I'm not sure what part of that you don't understand, but I've had my fill of trying to reason with someone on the internet today, so have a swell day.

@DepressiveMan @jnyblujns Oh sorry. I take everything back. There is one sentence talking about actual game play in a 9 paragraph video game review. Two, if you count the one about the breathing feature which he says is the only negative thing about the game.

Maybe there just needs to be a new category called "Interactive Story" or "Interactive Art". I'm not joking. If this was labeled as an interactive story or art, then this review makes perfect sense. But to call this a game, then have one or two sentences in 9 paragraphs that actually mention any kind of actual game play, is a bit of joke. This review literally spends 9 paragraphs talking about one single aspect of the game, which is it's atmosphere and how it makes you feel. I'm not criticizing the game, per se, nor am I criticizing it's artistic merit. I'm criticizing the review itself and maybe the way these "games" are labeled. Based on his review, this isn't much of a game at all, it may very well be an awesome experience and a work of art, but to give this an 8/10 as a game, when there is virtually no actual game play, seems ridiculous to me.

Go look at other reviews if you want to know the truth about this game. I finished it last night. Took me about 12.5 hrs and I still had three side quests I haven't finished. (the game lets you keep going after the ending to finish them.) I could write three pages on everything wrong with this review. Some of the things he says are just complete lies. Makes me wonder if he even really finished the game.

For the record, this isn't coming from a hardcore South Park fan. I haven't watched the show in over a decade. Also, I'm 36 yrs old if that means anything to anyone. The game is hilarious if you aren't offended by the type of humor it uses. If you are, then definitely don't play this game. The story is awesome, with plenty of twists and turns that I didn't see coming. There are some insanely memorable moments both in the story and game play. There is a ton of loot and a ton of customization options for your character throughout the game. As far as the combat? Think Paper Mario with about 10 times more depth. The game is not nearly as easy as he made it out to be. I died many times on normal difficulty, mainly during certain boss fights. You like exploration? This game has so many little details hidden everywhere, it's ridiculous. The bottom line is, a lot of love and effort went into making this game and it's apparent from beginning to end.

I've been a member here since 2002 and have been using the site even longer than that. It's a shame that a site that use to be, hands down, the best in the biz, has become a site with nothing but snooty, pretentious, overly politically correct hipster reviewers who wouldn't know a good game if it slapped them in the face. They just gave an 8 to NaissanceE, which is a game where you do nothing but walk around, has no story, and virtually no game play, but ohh... it's minimalist atmosphere provokes such deep feelings and emotions as you walk around doing nothing. These are the type of "games" that Gamespot loves these days. Also, let's just absorb the fact that according to Gamespot's standards, this game is deserving of a single point more than Rambo, which is just laughable. That alone should be enough evidence to convince you that they have lost all credibility.

@DepressiveMan @jnyblujns Don't have to play it. Just please point me to the part of his review where he mentions any actual game play? All he does is talk about walking around, trying to decide which way to go next and gushing over it's "atmosphere" and rambling on about how it makes him feel. Reading this review, all I can take away from it is that there is no actual game play other than walking around and finding new, pretentious words to describe the beautiful virtual architecture.

Shocking. Another pretentious "game" where you just walk around doing nothing, with no story, no point and no actual game play gets a great score on Gamespot.

If I was Gamestop's CEO, I'd tell Microsoft to go eff themselves and stop carrying all their products, new or used. I bet it would hurt MS a lot more than it would hurt Gamestop.

I'm 35 years old and have been playing games for literally as long as I can remember, including most every MMO that has ever been released. Having said that, I had very little interest in this game because I was upset they weren't making NWN 3. I love the NW series. I decided to download the game last night, just for the heck of it and I couldn't be more surprised. This game is a blast to play. I haven't been able to stop playing. I'm only at level 20, but so far, this is by far the best free to play MMO ever made. I'm real close to already calling it the best MMO ever made, period.

I honestly cannot imagine why anyone who likes games at all, wouldn't love this game. I strongly urge any of you that are hesitant to give this game a try because of what someone else said, to download it and play it for yourself. Bottom line, the game is FUN. Period.

Very solo friendly. Grouping is easy and automatic when needed and group instances are fun. Even the PvP is fun and I usually hate PvP. Graphics are solid. Very little lag ever(only in cities) Voice acting is solid.

I downloaded this game thinking I was going to hate it, and I could not have been more wrong.

My faith in Gamespot reviews has just been restored. Kudos to you for giving this broken mess of a game the rating it deserves and not giving it a rating on what it "could be if it worked".
