@jim_peterson They said they wanted to have a story as big as Lord of the Rings, so I would argue that they did want to have a story-driven, cinematic game. Unfortunately they didn't even get to Peasant of the Rings.
@jamesbigmac I happened to tune into GS's livestream for 30 minutes....all they were doing was fighting one boss which had an absurd amount of health and there was no real strategy to it other than shoot it in the back while it's targeting one guy....I was exhausted just watching it.
@cooltoast They said it was going to be as big as Star Wars, Halo, and Lord of the Rings. That's why there's such a backlash. It's like if I was really excited to get a really awesome pizza that I'd heard about and I open the pizza box and there's a saltine inside.
@deadline-zero0 I still remember IGN's Gran Turismo 3 review, where they spent 95% of the review pointing out all of the problems, and then at the end they said "but you know what? still the best racing game ever! 9.8" and I was like "..."
