Technically, this review is the reviewer's professional opinion--not personal opinion. Calling it just a "single reviewer's personal opinion" ignores the fact that it is a game critic's job to think about games at a deeper level than the average cheetoh-fingered gamer.
This game commits the sin of feeling exactly like the 9.0 Arkham City from 2011 which, if it were released today in 2013, would surely receive a 6.0 as well, right? Why this game series is expected to reinvent itself now while other well known series are lauded for not much more than adding more missions than the previous four iterations is beyond me.
I don't follow every review GS puts out but usually when a game rehashes everything its predecessor did well but adds little else that's innovative, it's an 8.0--which is probably closer to what Origins should've been given.
@oldschoolvandal What are the creator's "objectives" in including heavily sexualized elements in gameplay then? Cause it seems like it is not very subtly catering to a perceived male gamer love of ogling boobies. Which is fine, I suppose, but then that seems to validate the criticisms of immaturity.
@B-boy Some people enjoy the different style and perspective offered by Japanese games. Not everybody needs to be huddled together with you in your corner of gaming interests.
@wynn30 Doesn't sound like you've played it. But it does sound like you're ready to give it a pass no matter how bad it is simply because its a Suda game.
I would totally spring for this game if I could manage to get 3 dedicated friends to sit down and do couch co-op with me. It seems like it'd be a lot of fun when played that way.
