Why on earth would the writer of Thor writing the screenplay be considered a good thing? Sounds terrible. So it's a positive he isn't part of it. Although his replacement seems equally bad. Such a shame, a genuinely exceptional movie could be made out of this game with the right people involved. It looks like this will be another crappy video game movie, which is a waste of the potential.

@no_pants_4_u rofl, that was hilarious. I enjoy humiliating bumbling idiots who haven't got the slightest idea what they are talking about, especially when they make me reply multiple times, it entertains me. Stop taking discussions on a gaming website so seriously, it's just a bit of fun. Your animosity and the "I'm only 12 years old" insults are ridiculous. Take care!

@Pr0ving4Gr0undz So you are happy to accept your comment was completely irrelevant and erroneous in terms of this news story then? Well that's good. Presumably you just chose to randomly post that completely irrelevant and erroneous comment here by sheer coincidence then. lol. Unfortunately for you, your comment was incorrect either way.

As I said already, in regards to your now "general" comment that is entirely unrelated to minecraft. EA made more out of the PC this year that any other platform. In 2011 the PC was the single largest platform for games sales by a huge margin and the PC games market (excluding social/casual games) was almost as much as every single console and handheld combined. I expect in 2012 this margin is even greater. (Source - Newzoo, whose clients include almost every major company in gaming)

So no, you are completely wrong on all counts. Even by pitifully backing out of your original intentions, you still fail miserably.

@Pr0ving4Gr0undz Seeing as you still lack the ability to scroll down a little to where its far more clear, I guess I'll paste it here yet again. Minecraft sold 13,000 copies on the PC in the last 24 hours and continues to do so every day (if you want the source, scroll down the page a little). It has been out on the PC since 2009. The Xbox version is selling 17,000 copies a day and it has been out for less than a year. Now you feel pretty dumb right?

As for Crysis 2, retail numbers are completely meaningless for the PC as the vast majority of PC sales are DD. Retail numbers are all you have. DD numbers are not released and don't chart. With EA having just recently announced that the PC was their biggest market in the last year probably means it did fairly well though, despite it being received fairly poorly as a game by the PC community.

@Pr0ving4Gr0undz With just a little bit of scrolling down the comments you could have avoided making such a poorly informed comment.

I posted this down below twice already.

The PC version has been on sale since March 2009 as an alpha and then as a beta in late 2010. It had sold around 4 million copies already before the Nov 2011 release date.

@Nintyfan95 Strange comment, it's ok to enjoy both versions.. You realise it sells around this on the PC daily still even now, years after being available on the PC right? Around 13,000 copies in the last 24 hours. That's the version that is superior in an endless variety of ways.

I posted this below in a comment but it is worth mentioning here.

Number of copies of Minecraft sold on the PC in the last 24 hours;

12,784

Source - http://www.minecraft.net/stats

This is after it has been released on the PC for years now.

@iluvOP

In the last 24 hours Minecraft has sold - 12,784 - on the PC. That's years after it has been available on the PC. Minecraft is just a game that continues to sell.

Mojang is literally printing money at this point.

The Xbox version may have fewer problems, but it also lacks a huge variety of features and far more limited graphically. I expect an Xbox like version could be released for the PC and it would run flawlessly. The problem is the PC community wouldn't be satisfied with that, because the PC can deliver so much more.
