Out of all the suggestions made by GameSpot, I think the biggest one is price. I don't care how good Metal Gear and Final Fantasy are. There's no way they're worth $600.
Gosh, I remember back when the PS3 was first announced, and everyone thought it would own the next-gen consoles like the PS2 did with the current-gen. Then it was announced that the PS3 would sell for $500-$600, and the speculation began. But oh, it get's worse. One of the most violent launch days in video game history occured on November 17th, with PS3's getting stolen and some even getting killed for it. After the console was launched, it steadily began losing some of it's exclusive titles (Assassin's Creed, for example), and Wii's began selling like crazy while PS3's sat on store shelves for more than a week at a time. Now, with this horrible service in Europe and a likely $100 360 price drop at the end of the year (which, if you didn't do the math, will make it $100 cheaper than the PS3 even after buying the HD-DVD attachment), it looks like Sony has it's work cut out for it. If Sony doesn't get it's act together and keep it's hands on exclusive titles, they'll have to depend on it's flagship franchises like Metal Gear and Final Fantasy to sell the console. And who knows if a few games will be enough to keep the system alive.
I've never really had much difficulty with load times on the PSP. That's probably because I don't play games that often on it. I really only play Metal Gear Acid, as I haven't really found any other good games I'm willing to spend my money on. I basically just use it as an MP3 and video player. For those of you bashing the DS, I own the system, and I think it has it's advantages just like the PSP. Personally, I think the games are more fun on the DS, but the PSP is more versatile. Oh, and stripeknight, the DS does not have 16-bit graphics. 16-bit is the equivalent of the SNES, while the DS has 3D capabilities. That gives it, at the minimum, 32-bit graphics.
02EclipseGT I'm not one to complain about the PS3 for no reason, only to defend it when the PS3 guys talk trash about it. I mean, if somebody started making fun of your car, I think you would be pretty quick to defend it as well.
Just for the record, the $500 core system sucks, just like the Xbox 360 core system (which is why I have the normal 360).Not only does the core PS3 have a smaller hard drive, the online capabilities are stripped off. Have fun with that. P.S. Other things are changed on the core PS3 too, but as I'm not completely sure about them, I won't talk about them.
