@DawgByte2 If your opinion differs, write a review of the game yourself. But this review certainly agrees better with majority opinion (both then and now) than your own does, so I hardly think it calls for being so personally abusive toward the reviewer...

@jakeofjakeness Well, there's Euro Truck Simulator 2. That involves a lot of scenery viewing, and you get docked money if you break road rules (includung the speed limit). Admittedly you're in a truck, not a car, but even a grampa wants to get out of the Volvo once in a while. ^_^

@SpLiTMaN This review is of the PS4 version. It's clearly written all over the review.

That said, yes, there should be a PC review mentioning the shortcomings, but this is part of Gamespot's "new look" idea to integrate all platforms together for a game. At least they're clear about which version they played.

@GreekTheGeek I don't disagree with any of your suggestions, but I do find them amusing given that the beginning of the newscast was all about lack of innovation supposedly destroying the industry... ^_^

I once played a video game in which the only meaningful user interaction was making a choice between two options about halfway through the story. (The "non-meaningful" interaction was clicking to advance the cut scenes and conversations.) I think that was pushing the boundaries of "game".

Since someone mentioned Cow Clicker below, I have to also throw Progress Wars into the conversation. Also created as a satire, and rather amusing to play a few levels (despite being intentionally non-fun).

@thedoors24 That's what's bugging me too. I'm not a fan of all the giant-sized pictures spreading the info across multiple pages and tabs, but I can live with it. The real problem is that it's so hard to find the areas and info I used to come here for. Add that to the old game lists being migrated to barely usable (for my purposes) stacks, and I'm honestly considering picking a different site as my "home game site". I find that shocking, because when they announced the change I had not a single negative feeling about it. Now I'm just wide-eyed at how difficult they've made it to use...

@Ardazu Tracked games are now listed under "Following" along with any people you follow. Basically, go to your profile, click on "Following", then filter by "objects". There's no longer any way to sort these games by anything. Not platform, not release date, not even title. :-(

The whole idea is weirdly useless and will probably no longer suit your purposes (I know it doesn't suit mine), but that's the way tracked games are handled now.

@amdreallyfast Except that in the past every console had its hardware and software sufficiently coordinated to not need a launch day patch, so obviously they don't have to follow "the exact same schedule" to manage this. Plus, no Xbone will work without first connecting online, so presumably Microsoft never intend to coordinate those anyway - whether you buy it on launch day or in 12 months time, the console has to patch its software to work. So basically, the business about schedules is just some reasonable sounding rubbish to divert attention.

They're probably announcing this just to get people used to the idea that instead of plugging in their new console and using it, the Xbone forces them to plug it in and wait for 20 minutes before they can do anything. Since that's never been the case for any previous console, it's something people will complain about unless they're prepared for it in advance. Especially since, as Jess mentioned, no one knows why it's necessary for the Xbone anyway.

@dzimm @PET_ Dunno about you, but I consider "Combat is too basic. Inventory management is a chore. Multiplayer is local only." to be a list of significant faults. In fact, the review spent as much time talking about things the reviewer didn't like as things he did.

@husnainmehdi Gone Home was the last game to be reviewed before Gamespot dropped the half point rating system. Now games can only be rated in whole points. It's quite possible GTA V would have been a 9.5 if the old rating system was still in force, so it's difficult to judge current whole number ratings against the old ones. All we really know is that the reviewer didn't consider it a 10.0.
