i am very disappointed to read this. When i saw FPS mega man i was worried but then saw that the metroid prime studio would have handled it, that's when the sadness began. Metroid prime is one of my favorite adventure FPS games and i believe would have been a perfect fit for bringing mega man from side scroller to FPS. Their treatment of samus's blaster would go wonderfully with mega man's arsenal and would have made for some very interesting gameplay. Alas...
i guess i should buy a back-up 360 so i can enjoy the games i already have when this one putzes out. Not looking like i'm going to purchase the restriction machine from xbox. Let's just hope they're trying some new advertisement style where they make it sound really awful and then when the actual announcement happens it doesn't appear nearly as grotesque because we've already heard the worst case scenario. but i get the feeling that will not be the case...
would they rather: dealing with making the system function without an internet connection or dealing with a lot less people buying their gaming system? the second seems more likely
considering how often i turn on my xbox and it has trouble signing me into LIVE, this is going to be a very bad thing. My internet connection is stable (verizon fios) and my live account is always paid up and on time. They will definitely need to get their sh...act together if they want to pull this off without a multitude of angry, angry emails about not being able to play anything
they were right to have misgivings about the story. I hated it. Cortana was an interference in halo 3 and 343 continued that tradition, much to my dismay, in halo 4. @blueboxdoctor made a good point below, where it seems that the cortana/chief story was the main plot and the didact plot line was just there to give you something to do in between the chief/cortana interactions. I liked the character dynamics for halo 1 and 2 much better for there was more applicability between the chief and the player. Chief didn't talk much, similar to games like dragon age origins, legend of zelda and chrono trigger in which the main character didn't talk at all, so you could instead feel more like it was you in the story and not seeing it through the eyes of some character who says things you might not say and thus have no connection to. Plus cortana had more to do with guiding the story rather than for the most part being the story. Developers seem compelled to shoehorn in these "personal" relationships because they feel the need to add some sort of emotional connection to the characters which in this and in many recent cases, for me, has backfired. Which has also created a disconnect between me and the reviewers on this site because kevin vanord can't seem to get enough of sappy emotional situations in these games, be it mass effect 3 or halo 4. Save these situations for the big screen i.e. movies and just use the straight forward world/universe saving in video games. As I like to put it, keep your realism away from my escapism. To be honest, I was glad when cortana finally kicked it for a great annoyance was removed from the halo universe, though I'm gonna miss those boobs (they did a lovely job rendering her). I hope the next halo game doesn't involve contrived interpersonal relationships and lets the player form whatever connections they want. Saving the universe from peril should be the main driving force behind the plot. And I hope 343 is reading comments on this page for that matter or else all this typing is rather wasted.
PS-The last character I had an attachment to in recent games was the dog in fable 2, he was great.
@AtheistPreacher A relief indeed, thanks very much for the info. In fact, it's a bit more info and more useful than the above article was. Thanks again!
are they serious? the last DLC pack for the season pass is a level cap raise and a chance to play through the campaign yet again only harder than vault hunter mode? It better be more than that because those 2 items don't justify costing the same as pirates booty, campaign of carnage or the hunting trip. At least those actually involved new content.
