sm64 is my favourite game ever...even taking the nostalgic glasses off, its still a work of a genius..an unparllaled one... its quite obvious that for the first 3d plattformer nintendo went for a big bang...smg is a good sequel but a bit too linear and not as amazing as sm64...but sure it was way better than the almost lame game called sms...

That guy from Crytek (I forget his name) recently said that Sony know when they are going to release the PS4, but they didn't tell him. My guess is 2011. So perhaps Crysis will be coming to PS4 instead of PS3? Strange how they seem more interested in the PS4 when the Xbox 720 will likely be out first. Floppy_Jim
u know..crysis is still a current gen game....maybe crysis 2 with next gen gfx....

Lol what the hell? Do people really believe that's raytracing?

God rays + bloom has been done before, it's the same effect that for example, Crysis and Clear Sky use and it's NOT raytracing. We aren't gonna see REAL raytracing in games for a loooong time.

HenriH-42
point being...?the problem is that people dont realize that ray tracing isnt what they think....were doing 90% of that, visually speaking, with todays shaders and hdr....the only real advantage a ray tracer gives.... u would only notice if u were to render a whole room filled with translucent and reflexive spheres.....for the rest its similiar to what u do with hdr and other lighting techs....the point isnt only its processing consuming but its geared toward an architecture thats at the opposite of today rendering pipeline...our dear old rasterization....maybe we could see a hybrid rasterizer/ray tracer with larabee and future cgpus but i dont think hardware people will ever abandon rasterization for ray tracing...little gain for humungous processin power consumption...

just as i thought...larabee is the herald of the approach that will be taken for next gen gfx pipelines...but they will first use it to run slightly enhanced current gen gfx engines for a few years till the time is mature for jumping on the next gen gfx engines bandwagon...
