Retail will never die, and is not threatened in any way.
Doom and Gloom over retail is just wishful thinking for the Digital Download PC crowd. No one is considering it and the ONLY people suggesting it are PC analysts.
Isn't this the guy who makes the most painfully scripted games out there? If you don't do just what he wants the game will be irrevocably changed and potentially ruined?

Heavy Rain would actually be playable and better if it did use some of the older more classic game devices sprinkled into it a bit more.
David Darling sounds more behind the times than anyone else.
This notion of destroying and downgrading everything else just to keep PC viable, but hiding it behind thinly veiled attacks and suggestions for consoles is an old and lame strategy that people are starting to see through.
unfortunately feminism doesn't hold up under the microscope. A lot of misinformation is given as fact.
i.e. most pro feminist legislature is voted down by 50 and older females. Wage gaps have more to do with maternity leave than with men getting paid more. College is 60% or greater female population. Girls have always scored better in school because they are preferred over boys (see: "well behaved"). Nearly 80% of "new hires" post recession have been female.
I'm all for equality. But we've seen a weakening of science and engineering from pushing and simplifying programs so that the uninterested can also apply and get a degree.
