Its definitely a crossgen game that should have been out this year. My hype level is a bit down for it. You can see the difference with that Forspoken game.

Looks like there is enough pop and flare to earn that nintendo premium on it. In a way its cool how switch has been able to sell these other nintendo franchises. Alot more casuals get to play these other great franchises that didn't sell alot in the past. Nintendo gets there money while some are screaming for them to really go for it.

I don't mind them. They were always a thing. Back in the day they used to be part of the reward if you will. The purpose was more to entertain the player than to be like a movie. The creativity and the weirdness of it was there. Kojima games and Yakuza games for example they probably have the longest cutscenes out there but the gameplay weirdness is still there.

These days though game directors are leaving there fantasies of being close to movie directors with the performance capture craze. Mostly sony is guilt of this. I would also say in some cases kojima is also effected by this now days. The annoying thing is they also have the better gameplay designers when it comes to the west. Especially action games like Dad of War, TLOU etc. They ruined there games because the directors are now inspired by druckman performance capture direction prowess.

Its slowly starting to be backwards where the gameplay is now the reward you get after your done watching cinematic direction.

It was a strong start but its getting rough out there for Sony. Teh maybe they need to start cutting back on cinematics performance capture work.

Nah no longer about that life anymore. I use to feel the need to play certain games on consoles but now days pc is starting to take over. I'm not like a day one latest hardware pc guy, but Its starting to get redundant owning all consoles. especially xbox if I'm honest. Playstation is still hang on here and there but there is no rush anymore. I still prefer getting games like Strive, ff on there for example. Nintendo is unique of course but even that I ask myself why. Respect to the true manticores collectors out there.

Agree for the most part but the sentiment others have made about the switch is correct. It wasn't really a risk. Nintendo quietly solved the issues there were having by merging there more popular handheld market with the traditional console.

I remember some folks in sw thought that another pure handheld device was coming to exist along side the switch. Nintendo quietly said nope this is the new market for us now.

The description are very accurate tc. I think very soon you would have to add Bethesda to describe MS. When teh games start to come out that is. Honestly in the past it used to be nintendo automatically but these days the nostalgia is not strong enough. Small leaning towards sony for there other releases.

If xbox can do it a few months in a roll then yeah. No excuses needed. Here is hopping for a stronger competition this time around.
