I am not sure about having a gold membership. But, I know that if I do not have my XB1 connected to the internet, it will tell me that it lost the tv connection sometimes. Plus, the guide feature uses the internet to populate show titles.

@tobougg: The math does not seem right to me. None the less I wouldn't worry too much about the developers because they will make their profit. They hire the right people to forecast sales and charge the appropriate amount of money per game. Here is where the used game industry hurts the business: If games were single sales and were not able to be resold, shared, or COPIED then game developers, in theory, would be able to charge less per game. But, because we live in a capitalistic society, that will never happen. I like your passion for the industry, it is reassuring to know that there is more to gaming than just playing games.

@BattleSpectre: There is huge learning curve with this system. I finally figured out how to select something with hand gestures last night!! lol. But, much like buying a car. No one will buy a Xbox with out a test drive. I was lucky enough to have a kiosk that always has couple working xbox s.

Go to Xboxlive.com and sign in. Once you have signed in, click on the "my account" button and on the right side of the screen it will indicate your subscription status. If it shows gold there, then you will have to contact Microsoft Support.

Why do I get the feeling if I was to use one of those links I would get malware or a virus.

@hrt_rulz01: Although short, how did you feel that game did not live up to expectation? I felt it was one of the best games of the year. The story-line was way above average. Multiplayer was "out of the box" design.

@jekyll: I wonder if they are getting the message because they are connected to the internet through WiFi. Using Logic, I would expect that they would not get a message about gold if there was no internet connection.

So, I have been using the "Xbox Record That" command to record some of the best and worse moments of COD Ghost. Once I had the Upload software installed, it was a pretty simple process to clip and edit my clips and upload them.

One thing that I feel that most developers are forgetting is that sometimes simple is better. And when it comes to the tedious task of recording, editing, labeling, uploading to share 30 seconds of a single video, the less effort the better. This is where I think Microsoft did well. Let me walk you though how I got my video to Youtube.

1. "Xbox Record That"

2. "Xbox Go-To Upload"

3. Edit size of Clip

4. Upload to SkyDrive (watch tv while it was rendered)

5. Use my windows PC to access SkyDrive (Next Morning)

6. Use YouTube to upload clip. (took 1-2 mins)

Here is the clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgUu5cqBlLc

The process doesn't have any flashy buttons or unbelievable new technology. It is just simple.

Have any of you used the SkyDrive or feel the same way about simplicity needed in technology?
