MS and Sony are not going to tell anyone now when the new consoles will come out. Why? Because who would by a game in fall 2013 if they knew a new console was coming out in spring 2014?
Gerritsen was handed his hat 'cause this game has taken too long to finish, and then his buddy Wells decided to take another job offer. Now Ken brings in his man (Sinclair) to finish the game the way he wants it...and it will be a better game for it.
Why couldn't the terms of the loan be re-worked to save the company? I'm sure the citizens of Maine would've preferred that to more people on unemployment.
Whining about a lack of interest in a mediocre game is sad. Yes, it's tough out there, so shut up and get to work. The developers will beat a path to your door if your product deserves it.
Royalties could be paid to the respective parties every time a game is sold - new or used. But it's easier for the industry to punish consumers than resolve that issue amongst themselves.
Don't have a dog in this fight, 'cause I use consoles for gaming. But I like my local Gamestop and the guys that work there are pretty savvy about saving me some bucks on pre-orders and the like. OK, they rushed this decision and realized it was stupid, but that doesn't make them the Big Evil you pc players think it is. Besides, streaming sucks - you have to have a high-speed, high-price connection and you can't trade it in - ever.
