@PrpleTrtleBuBum: No doubt about it, DS3 wasn't about story telling. I played every game in the series and still don't know wtf they were talking about. However, the games were good at making me cry, especially the boss fights, lol!
@RSM-HQ: Yes, eventually DS3 character creator was good, but if you'll recall they had to patch it. When the game first came out, no matter what build you selected, your character looked like an emaciated castaway on a deserted island living off sand.
The Souls series had horrible character customizations (DS3 in particular) and nonexistent dialogue, yet was/is a hugely successful series. What the DS series excelled in was combat, and I understand the combat in MEA is much improved, so I'm hoping it makes up for the perceived faults in other parts of the game.
Sounds like the game should be played in small doses, not a marathon session. That way it won't seem so repetitive. And glad to hear the combat Is fresh, it was always the clunkiest part of the last series.
@SupaTrupa: Interesting, I think I'll take a look at the game if I have enough time. I'm playing the new version of Skyrim and it also allows you to build bases (homes) which I really enjoy. By the way, you can also build bases in Fallout 4 and populate them with settlers. If you enjoy that sort of thing (I do), I recommend the game. I am also really looking forward to the new Mass Effect and hope it has something similar. Good luck exploring!
