@jlenoconel: but how are they taking advantage???? They clearly stated that it is a choice which means you choose, if you feel like you're being taken advantage of, you're not you are just playing yourself. Some people just dont like playing on PC, trust me, I've tried to tell my friends to hop over, but they refuse to. Consoles are simple even when they are being more PC like, they are still simple just buy it, plug it in, turn it on and boom, for a PC equivalent of that you will be dropping more money especially to match what the XboneX is doing (before you say PC gaming isn't expensive, I'm stating to have a similar plug and play experience like buying an Alienware of the like you will be paying a premium)

The one thing I hope the Xbox One X does it create a new baseline for developing games for Xbox/Windows 10 and maybe even PS4. Now making games with Xbox One X in mind I can see them pushing the limits to get the best and then just simply scaling it down to make it playable on the XBoneS and possibly with better optimization will enable to deliver great graphics and performance on PC without having to buy a top tier graphics card like a 1080 TI

@brownyyy: actually i'm going to disagree with them dropping service. This is a long haul plan they are running. Remember, people on Xbox are technically using the same Windows Store so those numbers count, MS Band is discontinued because the market for those things isn't great, Smart watches/bands in general aren't doing big numbers and a number of companies aren't really putting out watches/bands, UWP is still and will be a constant extension for Win 10 especially with Windows 10 S dropping soon, and Win 10 mobile..... I will just say they haven't given up on it as of yet as they have talked many times of the Surface phone being something that they want to take time into creating and also not following the year to year trend of smart phone makers now.

But to the OP 1st impressions go a long way and that just seems to be the thing that sticks.. hell I dont even have issues with origin or even UPlay (granted I dont use them much but everytime I have used them they have been fine)

@the_hunger but they are not a gaming network, they are simply a vendor. Even if they do have one, i'm sure they will still have a basic steam account if you don't need those family share features or what not

@MICHAELKNIGHT2K but why, they are more like vendors than anything else. they don't provide an online infrastructure that is private or anything like the PSN or XBL, they are gaming networks, if Steam have paid subscriptions, then they will have to be a hub for a gaming network as well, but then that would really mean the Steambox is coming soon.

@Rage638 well MS didn't say they were ditching the idea completely. The ideas they had with the policies before set them back, but it doesn't mean they were going to use some of the good ideas they had in the future. If anything, they may enable that feature for digitally downloaded games, which i believed should have been the incentive while still supporting direct hard copy play
