@tigersa12us2001 Trust me, I've been more than disappointed with the decisions the ppl @ Nintendo made in the past. I'm aware that they were slow to accept using a disk-based gaming system (quality / tech cost factors) and that they (still) shy away from online gaming for the most part, but having NEW money and NEW branches of 'idea men' for the past few years at their disposal, gradually leaning in the direction of accepting more M rated games, and FINALLY admitting to weak 3rd party support, This next system WILL be different. And I'm not talking about 'Wii' different either. When you're on top, you gotta think a little differently. And I think that's what these guys have been gearing up for. We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm sure this new Nintendo system will compete with PS3 and 360 in terms of graphics and power, but I'm almost positive that's just the tip of the iceberg. Remember that in recent years, Nintendo made TONS (...TUUUUUNS) of money from the Wii and DS systems. I hear that they keep making entirely new buildings for R&D and other departments. These guys innovate. We're gonna see something revolutionary in this new system. No question about it.

1) I was plenty excited for the system's release, but I was disappointed enough in the lineup to wait for a worthwhile title. The price isn't really the issue. I was just hoping to play Kid Ic, a new Mario, or even a re-released Ocarina of Time, in 3D on day 1. And with Pilotwings apparently having a lack-luster replay value (how do you screw up the replay value for Pilotwings?), I'm willing to wait on that game to go down in price. 2) I just wanna say real quick: I understand that the joystick is the go-to peripheral for most fighting game fans out there, but that doesn't mean it's better. I've kicked many a 'joystick gamer' tail with a substantial D-pad controller just fine. That's like arguing that the normal Y-axis setting is better than invert in a shooter... Silliness.

I bet $250 is the price they'll go with.

This may be Nintendo's riskiest move since the Virtual Boy. I know I plan to get a 3DS, but when I was a child, I wanted a Virtual Boy too. We couldn't afford one. I wonder if that same story is going to play out this time around for the 3DS. I'm pretty sure they'll do well. If anything, all that DS and Wii money they made gives them enough cushion to make mistakes. I can't wait to get my hands on one.

I'm all about a fair playing field. I know I'm not the best at FPSs. I don't have a problem with NPCs being a better shot than me, but sometimes I feel like their abilities to do so are based on a simplistic and unflattering AI system. I've played games where I sneak into a room and the enemy technically wasn't supposed to notice my approach, but every time i crossed a certain unmarked checkpoint, the enemy's behavior would change, preparing to attack! I think crap like that is bogus. It seems it's difficult to develop an AI system to where your actions genuinely surprise NPCs. A more natural enemy "field-of-view" would be appreciated in most of these games. I remember playing GRAW2 where I was targeting a NPC enemy, hidden in bushes, easily 500 ft away from him. Pretty invisible, basically, but when I took a shot and missed (again I'm not the greatest) he immediately turned and SHOT ME IN THE FACE (lol)! There was no "where the heck did that shot come from" or "it came from this direction, but it's gonna be a little difficult to find a man in camouflage right away" behavior! All the game was waiting for was (literally) a trigger. My shooting at the NPC allowed for it to then turn and shoot at me. That joker knew I was there the whole time! I heard of it referred to as Dumb AI, and I'm glad developers are making an effort to do something about it. and obviously, I need to get better @ playing my shooters.

Good thing graphics aren't everything. Halo Reach plays better H3, PERIOD.
