So we have the confirmation, we get an Uncharted movie in 2016. The writer is David Guggenheim and the director is Seth Gordon. But now we need a cast and so let the guessing game begin. Here are my guesses or opinions on who I would cast:

Nathan Drake:

  • Chris Pratt, he is an up and coming actor, has done both comedy and more serious acting in his career and has been solid at both and his role in Guardians of the Galaxy is kinda Nathan Drake'ish. I think he could pull it off. Seriously just look at his profile picture on IMDb...give him the ring and a holster and you have your official movie poster.
  • Other candidates that we've heard over the past years would also be great but they all have age-concerns if this really grows into a series of movies in the next years. I know, I know Nathan Fillion would be perfect (or would've been perfect 10 years ago) but I think this movie comes (sadly) to late for him, the same goes for guys like Mark Wahlberg or Dylan McDermott. Other people also have mentioned Bradley Cooper, I would be ok with that but I'd rather have Chris Pratt.

Elena Fisher:

  • There is actually no reason not to take Emily Rose, she is a decent actress, still young and she is actually Elena Fisher (the character is modeled after her and she voices Elena). The only reason to pass up on casting her would be the fact that she's not a big name in Hollywood (decent but not a huge star), but that would mean that they would get a huge star and I don't see who that would be (Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Lawrence? I doubt they could get them and I can't think of any other huge names that would fit the character)
  • Another option could be Yvonne Strahovski, she's a good actress and she looks a lot like the character. Rosamund Pike should also get some consideration.

Victor Sullivan:

  • I personally wouldn't cast J.K. Simmons, but he seems to be everyone else s choice, he sure looks like Sully but I don't like him as an actor (I don't know what bothers me about him but I just don't like him).
  • I really like Bruce Campbell as Sully, but I have to admit he's not perfect either. I don't have anyone that I really like as Sully right now.

So what are your suggestions? (Chloe Frazer is not in the first movie but if there is a sequel Olivia Wilde is clearly the choice, at least my choice;). )

I have to say that I'm excited and worried at the same time.

Yesterday I was talking to a friend and he asked about the game and when I described it to him I realized how excited I really am for this game. I said: It is an FPS, a mix between Borderlands, Halo and Mass Effect with some old-school Star Wars flavor and incredible music. After I thought about what I just said I realized how amazing that sounds, and it really is. I don't know how Betas usually are but this one was pretty solid in my opinion. The gameplay is great, the weapon variety is clearly there, the graphics are very good (for an open-world game) and the story has me intrigued.

I am still a little worried about the game though. My skepticism is not caused by anything that is actually in the Beta but by all the things that are unknown at this point. I feel that we don't really know a lot about the game. The trailers that I've seen so far haven't really done a good job at showing us what this game is about. Bungie hasn't helped at all with keeping everything kind of mysterious up to this point. All we know about the game is what we saw in the Beta and that it cost a crapload of money. (Everything I'm going to mention now might be irrelevant once we see the final game but like I said we just don't know)

Here are a few questions/points I have:

  • Map: We don't know how many planets are going to be playable and what kind of variety we should expect from the game, up to this point the trailers only showed places that look exactly like what we have in the Beta. I hope that we get different looking places because I don't want see just brown for the entire game (remember the first Borderlands? Yikes).
  • Classes: We don't know a lot about the classes that are in the game, right now I feel there isn't much that really sets them apart from one another, and are there really only three? Are they going to add some in the future? And what is the level-cap?
  • Enemies: The enemy variety was actually pretty decent, I just hope they change them a little bit in other areas because the colour palette was kinda the same for all the enemies. However I hope that we will have one ultimate nemesis, right now we haven't really seen what or who we are actually fighting. "The Darkness" is in my opinion a little bit unspecific, I personally like to know who we are up against, maybe it's just me but I like having a big nemesis that we can focus on (like Vaas in Farcry 3 or Handsome Jack in Borderlands 2).
  • Missions: This is my one big gripe with the game so far, the mission variety is not there. All the missions have just been: go from point A to point B and kill things. That's it, that's all there is, and I do know that you could say that about every mission in any FPS game, but here it felt especially obvious to me that every mission was the exact same thing. As an example I can draw a comparison to Borderlands again: In Borderlands you get the missions from a person that "talks" to you, you get a text explaining what you should do (mostly a funny text), the person that gave you the mission is talking to you while you're doing the mission, not huge conversations but little messages and when you're done you turn the mission in to that exact person. All of those things might seem like small, insignificant things but they really help to bond with the characters in the game. (I know this could be in the game here as well seeing as this is just a Beta, but we don't know)
  • The loot: This is just a personal choice I guess, but I prefer getting to use what I looted right away instead of having to get back to one person just to "encrypt" it, I can see this getting really annoying if you have to travel back to one person over and over and.....
  • The "Dinklage": Before everyone tears me apart here for criticizing him, he's my favorite character on GoT (what a surprise I know) and I really like him as an actor but boy does he suck here. I don't know if it's bad writing, bad directing or if he just phoned it in but something is clearly wrong with his performance as your sidekick, and just the thought of having to listen to him for 30,40,50? hours is just terrifying.
  • The absolute and undeniable most important thing ever asked about Destiny: Are we going to be able to spend countless of DLC-money on new (useless but incredibly cool) dances like we do with TF2-hats?

Hi everybody, I played the "main story" all the way through with the Hunter class and I leveled up till the max level at 8. Then I tried the Crucible, the PvP, and I was bad, like really bad. I got killed almost immediately every single time I encountered someone to fight. After a while I discovered that the players with the Titan class dominated all the matches and that I could barely make a dent on their shields. Is it really unbalanced or am I missing something? Is there some special gear that I have to get?

(I know there are special vendors for Crucible-only stuff but almost everything is for level 20 so normally nobody can get it right?)

We are approaching the end of February 2014 so it's the perfect time to discuss (and predict) with a complete lack of evidence, what is going to happen at E3 2014 at least on Sonys part. So I hope you all join me in predicting horribly unrealistic scenarios. Here we go:

Things that I consider to be a sure thing to get announced/shown:

-The Order 1886 extensive gameplay trailer and release date in 2014

-Deep Down gameplay trailer and 2014 release date

-Uncharted 4 new trailer+some gameplay 2015 release

-PS Now subscription combined with PS+ for a new Netflix-like subscription model, it will launch immediately after E3(North America) and offer a few games for free immediately to subscribers. (The Last of Us will be one of them, Europe in 2015) PS+and PSNow will be also separately available

Things that I would say have a decent chance at being true:

-A new IP from Sony Santa Monica, surprisingly no God of war game, the game will be in the horror genre

-Gran Turismo 6 will be ported to the PS4 with a 2014 holiday season release

-New IP from Media Molecule that will need the PScamera (they already showed something at the PS4 reveal event but nothing since then and nobody knows what that exactly was)

-Even though it won't come from Media Molecule Little Big Planet 3 will come, from Sumo Digital as a PSVita exclusive

-Sony Bend will announce a new Action/Adventure game with a teaser

-The Last Guardian will get a new trailer and an early 2015 PS4 announcement

-Quantic Dream will show its new game titled Singularity

Things that have little to no chance at being true but are fun to speculate about:

-Sony buys back Crash Bandicoot and announces a new game in a very short teaser no date or studio shown

-PS4/PSVita bundle at 499$/€ available holidays 2014

-PS4 price drop, this one is very unlikely since it's still selling like hotcakes but you never know

-Bioshock game for PSVita teased

-New IP from Naughty Dog, the unrealistic thing here is not that it's coming but the fact that they would have something to show as early as E3

-Big attack on the Vita front: new Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, inFamous, Syphon Filter and Sly Cooper games announced for the Vita all at once...this is complete bulls**t but could you imagine the faces of the audience?

-New IP by Guerrilla, it's actually rumored that they are making an RPG but E3 2014 would probably come to soon to reveal anything

Comment if you think I'm right or completely wrong about anything and feel free to add stuff when you think I missed something
