@battlefront23 The ship upgrades were a totally different thing. I can go into great detail, but in short, they fit much better into the campaign and story. Though, I suspect we can disagree on that too ;) Well, I guess I can agree about the reaction being larger than the issue. But I see things this way. I'm a customer and I'm giving my feedback. This way I'm hoping I can get a better product next time. Now, maybe the feedback can be given in a more civilized manner... but, where's the fun in that xD

@battlefront23 A lot of people don't find this or any multiplayer fun. But my problem is not whether it's fun or not. It's about the fact that I'm being punished for not playing it. And you may find it fun to go through all the games and the multi again and again, but I don't. Nor do I have the time or the patience. But hey, I understand, you don't see it that way. And you know, that's great for you :) All I can say is, have fun :)

@battlefront23 There's nothing wrong with tying the multiplayer to the sigleplayer. Making it essential though, forcing it onto players that are not interested in it? Now that's wrong. Not to mention, Mass Effect didn't even have multi in the first two installments and now it's suddenly the thing that decided your character's fate? Come on. You don't need the multiplayer to get the feeling Shephard is not the only one going against the reapers and I don't even see the multi adding something essential in that aspect anyway. And no, I don't think it's smart, and given the reaction, I don't think it's good either. Also, Did you also know that the boost multiplayer gives you degrades over time, so not only you have to play the multiplayer, you have to play it every time you want to get the good ending? What about the people that buy the game later when no one plays the multiplayer anymore? All they did this for is simply to force people to play the multiplayer. And I, for one, buy games to have fun, not to do choirs. @StrawberryHill I hear you and that's exactly why I'm disappointed in Bioware. I'll probably not go as far as not buying their games again, but I wait for the price to drop before getting the game. I'm tired of game companies that complain about piracy and what not all the time but never think about the way they treat their paying customers.

@battlefront23 The main complaint is not that the ending is bad. It's that you have to play multiplayer to get the good ending in a game that should be all about the choices you made in the story. And yeah, I know it's possible to get the good ending even without multiplayer. But why should I make all the right decisions (read: the decisions Bioware decided were right) and complete all possible quests to get something that other people can and will get simply by playing the miltiplayer for half an hour, regardless of the choices they made in game? Again, that's not what this game is supposed to be about. Not to mention, no feature should be forced onto the player in any way, especially, again, in a game that's all about choice.

I don't mind the homosexual options at all and I don't see why someone should. Unless, it worries some people that they might feel... tempted... to try that option? But that's an entirely different problem now, isn't it? xD But do I have other issues with the game? Let's see. I have to wait 3 more day than the US to play the game? Ok, fine, I understand, I can wait. It even gives me time to look up some info. Let's see... First day DLC? I wouldn't buy most of your DLC months after the game's release, asking me to buy it the same day as the game really makes me question your brain's integrity. But who cares, I don't have to buy it. But oh, I need to play multiplayer to get the good ending? You know what, I will wait for a game trainer and cheat to boost the required stat rather than to be forced into something I don't care for. And you know what? Because of that move, I would not try the multiplayer at all, just for the sake of it. Fine, now that all that's done, lets play. Oh, the game won't install from the CD? Ah, I have to wait for it to download from Origin? Ok, this time, you really did it. If that's Bioware's way to discourage piracy then I'm totally dumbfounded. Forget that pirates get it free, they get it faster and they don't have to go to the same crap with the installation (yeah, I checked xD). So think about that, Bioware. In the meantime, I'll think twice about pre-ordering your games.

That's how demos work. And honestly, scripting could be bad for some games but is good for others. The scripted events are what made Bioshock that much more memorable and they did it without losing the feeling of choice and freedom. It's how it's done that's important.

No Fatal Frame? Or Silent Hill 1? Strange. Aside from that, nice article. Thumbs up for Silent Hill 2, System Shock 2 and Eternal Darkness. Also Bioshock, although I was more enchanted than scared^^ Hey, Aliens vs Predator is missing too... the list should have been much longer.

The games I expect most are Hellgate: London, Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, Alan Wake, Assassin's Creed, Titan Quest: The Immortal Throne. I'm really surprised not to see in the list some of these games or Metal Gear Solid 4 for example (I never played that series, but from the things I hear about it it's from the best...). But I guess everyone expect something different so...
