I'm wondering what the significance of the title "Phantom Pain" is, aside from the obvious medical terminology referring to the missing hand and possibly eye.
Still interested, just not at this time. I rarely play the original Wii as it is. Fortunately, it's an older model so it still doubles as a Gamecube, which to me, still makes it more useful than this new console.
I have no beef with the concept of dlc. It allows small developers to get their products out there that could not otherwise afford to do so. Or when it is used to improve upon an already complete game later on. It's companies like Capcom who exploit the intended purpose that piss people off, selling the already existing completed product in segments. I don't even have a problem with that either perse, if I didn't have to spend full price for what is basically glorified demo of the total product. Chopping games up like that ought to be used to save your consumers money (ultimately making you more), as they have more options of affordability while your product is widely more accessible... hence...selling more units, with more profit potential. However these greedy retards only use it as a means to squeeze water from a stone by suckering their dwindling fanbase into buying the illusion of a complete product.
Backwards compatibility is kind of a deal-breaker for me these days, and I also doubt it will be an integral part of the next-gen. They're already phasing it out in the current, which is ridiculous. For anybody who plays a lot, and still enjoys their old games, this is a must. We don't want to have 500 consoles hooked up and cluttering up space, or to be fiddling around with the back of our televisions every time we want to play something, then having to go back again. I don't care how low they drop the prices on the previous gen. I'm also not going to re-purchase downloadable copies of games that I already own just because these guys want to cut corners and scam people.
Wow... just looking at this you guys were just extremely nitpicky on the reviews of this game. The ps3 version looks like it has the same issues as every other multi-plat release. Slightly less detailed textures. The draw distance seems to be exactly the same. I'm failing to see how VASTLY inferior it is. Geez, exaggerate much? Oh... and unless you want to run this crap on the highest settings, you don't need a $300+ video card. Current onboard and most last gen run this game just fine at moderate to high detail.
