DNF is pretty fun although I wish that they kept more 90's shooter mechanics like the non-linear maps and the 100 health bar as well as being able to carry an arsenal of weapons and not just two. If they made it a throwback to 90's era shooters the game would have gotten favorable reviews just because you don't see any of those type of games anymore and it would be a nice change of pace from the current landscape of shooters right now.

Except they didn't cut out the retailer and D2D middlemen.
Retail is something different all together but you make a point with D2D. Perhaps they don't see them as much of a threat to their profit margin then Steam. Steam does have the largest returns over any other digital distribution network currently available.

You can't judge a game by a cinematic that is just naive. The gameplay itself is weak and the game mechanics are meh. Kudos for the voice work and choices but the combat system is slow and clumsy. This ain't 2004 now and days mmos need a better combat system that engages the player more and TOR ain't doing it.
I use to play Competitive TF2 not anymore, only frequent a teamwork based pub server these days but the game is very fun at the highest level. Graphics shouldn't weigh in on your judgement of whether a game is competitive or not that is just silly. The way competitive TF2 plays is different from the way competitive CSS plays that is all that needs to be said and why you may or may not like it.

This vanilla items are balanced as is that their are very few true upgrades. The ones that are can be achieved with little effort and just a bit of time.
It's an mmo but Age of Conan is a solid game (fixed since it was broken at launch) with fun pvp multiplayer and overshadowed by recent and more popular mmo's.
