@santinegrete: To be fair, there aren't many modern western RPG's that have great melee-oriented combat systems. The last one I recall that was good was Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. I played Dragon Age: Inquisition the other day and that wasn't great either.
@itsnota2mer: I tried that game a couple of weeks ago. Narrative-wise and the gameplay I think it's fine but I find its balance and overall pacing on the weaker side. Hard difficulty is too easy: way too many ammo available while having sparse amount of enemies to shoot at. Stealing almost has no consequences. Some tweaks could've improved the game immensely.
@hardwenzen: Even for the scope and outdated standard that it was going for, it failed in imagination. I can still play and enjoy an outdated game if it had passion or creativity poured into it, like most of the PS2/Gamecube/OG Xbox games. This game had almost none of it. The devs with creativity and heart left this studio long ago, and we finally see the result of that.
Disliked the first game at first on the PS3 but after giving it a second chance on PC, I could honestly say that it has the most fun action RPG combat system I've experienced so far. It was so good that I basically ignored the poor story, dull graphics and the dated fast travel system.
@azn0richard0: Well the signs were there since last gen, which is why I sold my PS4 halfway through its generation. It was only a matter of time before all the strains from AAA game development alongside the focus on heavy monetization would break the camel's back.
