And how exactly would he have done that? Shepard is just another animal with subpar logic to the Catalyst, the only reason it has presented itself to Shepard is because of the Crucible. Also, it's implied that the original creators were unwillingly turned into Reapers.. if the Catalyst's own creators couldn't convince it out of doing what it's doing, how would Shepard be able to?
I don't know how Shep'd do it, maybe it would only work if you managed to make peace between the quarians and the geth, but there should be a way.
I'm not asking for a hokey happy ending, even before it came out, I had a fair idea that the end of ME3 would most likely claim Shep's life, so I knew the ending be bitter-sweet, but having those three rather lame endings forced upon us.
Several people and I just feel that Shep should at least be seen TRYING to resist, not just consigned to fate and Space Magic, accepting failure on the enemies terms isn't Shep's way.
