@garfield: That's exactly what it is. Windows have DirectX which for years has been polished. On Linux you got OpenGL which is great but not as polished purely as there is no one big company that sets standards on it and looks after it.

Valve created SteamOS to be NOT dependent on MS Windows as Microsoft want's to control everything on their system. Early days for Steam OS and as with everything you need to give it some time.

If somebody tells me that WIndows is better then Linux, then think again. Don't judge the system if you don't use it on daily basis. If Schools would do more diversity in teaching IT then Linux would be a natural choice along OSX and Win. SteamOS is just a baby in OS world and have own issues but give it a chance to shine. Truth to be told if Valve will not announce anything exclusive on SteamOS then there is no massive impulse to buy the box. MS and Sony does it so no shame in doing that, business is business.

Eh, I'm a developer with a game on Greenlight which is about 74% to the top 100. Where is the logic where such stuff gets trough and you trying hard to make your game great. Surely whoever voted this did that to troll the community.

Looks potentially as a good game even if easy, but I think I passed the line where anal jokes are amazing and still fun. Either I'm to old or jokes on SP become to anal ?

All that fear that Linux environment is not matured for games is a talk of a person who don't used the system as it seems. I understand that many gamers don't want to touch anything in thier OS, but to be fair No Pain no Gain.

DirectX is cumbersome and not really great technology. ID Software up until RAGE supported Linux without a problem cos' they did not have a publisher that did not want to "waste" resources on ports.

With more games for Linux, OpenGL will be better as anyone can contribute to it's development.

For me this can be perfect as a gift to kids. No worries about 3D and not a massive loss if it brakes. It's an odd shape I admit but IMO this is a wise choice for Nintendo. They stated clearly what is a target for this device.

Game looks like fun. I have enjoyed Pikmin via NintendoLand and this is natural progression. Graphics looks quite realistic for environment and monsters if you know what i mean.
