Everybody has to remeber that 5 years is a hell of a long time for electronics and I really won't be surprised if the next-gen of consoles don't last for 5 years.
The xbox 360 was realesed in 2005 and the new xbox is set for 2010(from various magazines and video game shows check out the new Game Informer, I'm pretty sure there's news in there). This is the same 5 year period that all consoloes have been going by for some time. The real conflict is that there are many rumors going around stating that the playstation 3 is going to be late and will come out in 2012 which gives microsoft the market for two years, again!
Are you slow or something? First of all, Blu-Ray really isn't replacing DVD's because it's still a disc and when the next genration of consoles comes out, memory cards or something else will be the new "DVD". Second of all PS3 sucks and the only thing keeping them up is Blu-Ray, almost all their games have either fell face flat or are multi-platform with Xbox 360. If any company dosen't make a next system, which is a slim chance, it will be Sony, in my opinion.
I, of course, beat Halo 3 a while back, but never posted this for some reason. If you watch after the credits you see chief floating in space and says something to Cortana like "We're just going to have to wait". Do you think that there will be a Halo 4 later in the future or sooner? since Bungie broke away from Microsoft and is now independent you think they will try to do more with the Halo license?
