Seriously? With all the asinine, nonsensical comments that are posted on this website, my comment about editorial bias gets deleted? I understand Carolyn receives a lot of undeserved hate, but my comment was relevant and without personal criticism.
This isn't a game. There is no gameplay. This is hardly "outside the box" either; it's a visual novel told through an "interactive" first person point of view, and it's just riding this new trend in the industry where games with a "real" or cinematic presentation in its story telling is deemed great by all publications. The whole game builds on a false atmosphere leading up to an incredibly anti-climactic finish. Would this game be lauded as much if its characters were male? Maybe not, but that isn't the point here. The point is that this game isn't a game, and it doesn't deserve the praise that it's getting.
They're going to be announcing upcoming titles by other means? The whole thing sounds incredibly pathetic and extremely unprofessional on their part; they're just disregarding and playing down E3's importance. Nintendo's presence, or lack of in this case, is going to be extremely detrimental to their image and support for next-gen titles and the Wii U. Their console is, in the company's eyes, "next-gen" and this E3 IS going to be thee E3 unveiling all this new next-gen tech that everyone is going to be drooling over, and Nintendo isn't even going to be there for it. The Wii U obviously didn't meet expectations, and it's only going to get worse with the impending release of the next Xbox and PS4. They need to SELL their console, as in convince people that their system is better than the upcoming competition, and they're not even going to be at the biggest showcase of the year. That's just plain stupid.
@chris72sax Your erroneous use of the word "centric" is really bothering me. Sony is a Japanese company, and Microsoft is an American company; both companies are international and cater to their respective East and West audiences. Neither company revolves around only one gaming culture.
I find it odd that she gave Dark Souls on PC a 9.5 which is infamous for its difficulty that others have said is artificial and cheap. I also noticed in her video review of that game that she was using the Drake Sword all the way up until at least the Duke's Archives.
Point I'm trying to make is that this guy is retarded.
I wonder if the shooting mechanics will be akin to Halo, or if they opt for rail sights. It will most likely shoot like Halo, but I wouldn't be surprised either if it's more like every other generic hold-L-to-aim-while-you-don't-move shooter.
@vinniebarx @Prats1993 343 changed too much for the sake of change, making sure that we know it's their game and not Bungie's. I had no idea what was going on in campaign because I didn't read the books, and the multiplayer is the most casual it's ever been. It's only Halo in name, not in soul.
@charlesdao only game i remember specifically (as in I remember it came out in 2009) is demon's souls, but that might be because it was goty that year.
