Last: FFXIII (PS3) and Rage (360)

Current: Deus Ex: Human Revolution (PS3)

Next: Dragon Age: Origins, The Witcher (second playthrough) and/or Battlefield 3 (all PC)

Still need to buy The Witcher 2, Batman: Arkham City and Uncharted 3. Too many games not enough time...

Uncharted 3. It has a lot to live up to.

The stuff I see and read on Skyrim show they've improved on everything I didn't like about Oblivion - how much it's improved is the big question but my hopes aren't high enough for the game to let me down when I eventually play it.

The remaining big releases this year are mostly sequels I'm not interested in and I wouldn't be surprised if they were mostly just more of the same.

I have 2 friends with vaguely similar taste in games so I take their opinions seriously, the others just go for the big profile shooters, sports games etc. Off the top of my head, I bought Mass Effect, Heavy Rain and VTM: Bloodlines mostly from being recommended them, and was impressed with all 3, but on the whole that doesn't usually happen. I research games myself and know exactly what I want to get.

Getting a new pc in a few days, so I'll finally be able to play Dragon Age: Origins (patiently waited two years as everyone says it's much better on PC than consoles) and The Witcher 2 (sequel to my favourite game of the last 5 years). I'll also play Battlefield 3 on there.

Other games I'm looking forward to:

Uncharted 3
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Mass Effect 3
SSX
Bioshock Infinite

Not sure how I'm going to find all the time this winter...

Some of them have already been mentioned, but the Pyramid Head encounters in Silent Hill 2. Not even the actual boss fights, but the occasions when you bump into him unexpectedly. Very creepy. Others include when he chases you and Maria round a corridor in the Hospital, and bumping into him if you take a wrong turning in the labyrinth.

Also, the haunted hotel mission in VTM: Bloodlines.

The only FPS I'm considering buying in the foreseeable future is Bioshock Infinite.

I'm not completely sick of the genre yet, but I've always been one to try out different games and there's so many other games I'm more interested in.

I wont buy another COD game though, I've had enough of Activision and that franchise.

I know what you mean, I thought of this myself recently.

I like Rage but I'd say the worst thing about it is that no other characters seem to bother to do anything other than tell you what to do. I don't expect FPS games to have a deep storyline but if you're going to fill it with NPCs they should at least play some part in the action occasionally.

Uncharted 3 is the only game not yet released I'm definitely going to buy this year. The Witcher 2 and Dark Souls I still need to buy, and I have a large backlog of games to get through.

I expect most of the next 3 months will be spent on Deus Ex: HR, The Witcher and Dragon Age: Origins.

I haven't played it but it will be the current season's stats, so yeah squads will be up to date.

Alan Wake does psychological horror pretty well I'd say, and is a great game all round.
