Imagine bringing the Starcraft universe to console. Blizzard recently showed they want a peice of the console market...imagine those people that feel like they can't afford a good gaming pc could play RTS on their TV and console
For all those asking about compatibility (peripherals, software, etc.)...I would have to bet that if Steam sunk the investment money into making an OS then they are going to do everything in their power to make it accessible for users...the thing with people like Gabe and Bill Gates, at some point you have so much money that it becomes less important...i think Gabe wants to leave behind a legacy of changing the video game market in as many ways as possible.
I quit D3 after 2 months because i realized they used MATH to basically force people to use the AH...thus, it became a AH game. Here is just another piece of proof of what they did all in the name of profit. I bought it with their promise of pvp...and still got burned. I won't be fooled again sirs...unless you bring Leah back so she can come out of the screen and lick my balls im not buying your expansion!
They still have a way to go for me to buy the expansion. I purchased D3 with high hopes and with the understanding that other features were going to be implemented. They said there would be pvp, which I believed would be format that they had showed at gaming conventions. Then a year later they add dueling....that was a real kick in the sack.
The removal of the AH is a big step, but they need to take a few pages from POE's playbook such as races, ladders, crafting, and the pvp they promised.
Being a married, dual income, professional $40 isn't going to break my bank, but the fact of the matter is $40 for a two-day stream that most people will only watch bits and pieces of is way to expensive. Maybe there are a lot of people out there that are willing to pay that price, but i think if they were to charge $20 for a virtual ticket they would have more people watching and in the end make more money. Oh well, in the end its their choice, but ill pass and just get the news afterward.
