Ubisoft don’t believe in DRM, Watch Dogs is getting a whole mess of fixes, and people love riding Far Cry 4’s elephants, apparently!

I just got the patch and I really don't know why it didn't do much for a lot of people. For me, the patch made the game not stutter at all.
Oh, and the WorseMod still works, although, you need to reinstall it (if you already had it) after you install the patch.
Sure they do. That's why Watch Dogs was delayed for it. As for the DRM claim, what rot. These guys were first to do the Simcity thing with Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands where you must be online because certain functions were offloaded to the cloud. That game bombed of course and because the last PoP game they made.
Free to play demo games, with pay for upgrading via download only. That will stop that pirating kind of. People could say I wont play that, but good we didn't want them. Raise wages, pay for game them selves.
About animals in games... I don't know why, but I NEED A SHARK SIMULATOR GAME. Not a funny one, a SHARK SIMULATOR, free roam on the oceans as a shark following trails of blood, hunting and terrorizing people and other animals.... One can only dream...
Hopefully this is the beginning of a general shift toward realizing what gamers have said for years: DRM punishes paying customers while failing to achieve its goal.
Let us back up our digital console games on external hard drives, and charge a fair price for them relative to physical copies. You'd still have issues for those without high speed internet, but digital would become half the market within five years. Gamestop won't like it, but they have no inherent right to be preserved via an outdated business model.
Is that why ubi keeps putting tacked on multiplayer in their games, to combat piracy? No one is buying your games for Multiplayer Ubi. I can see Far Cry having some good coop or something though.
The Wii U is STILL $299.99? Yikes. Spend another $100 and you can have actual third party games with..."gasp"....adult themes on the big two cons. It should be cheaper since it's aimed at the kiddies and all. Yes we all love Metroid and Zelda, But Mario Kart is LITERALLY filled with babies and Koopa kids. Here's hoping the Wii U 2 comes with a proper controller and some power under the hood, ala Gamecube-that machine was boss.
Watch_Dogs patch was already released for PC, it actually made no difference to performance and in a lot of cases made it worse. People are reverting their game back to the unpatched version.
congratulations on finally realising that Ubi, we've only been saying that for like 10 years atleast
the wii u should be 150 dollars then nintendo will be swimming in cash....... even more then they allready are lol :)
Can we PLEASE get the News back in text form as well as video?
From a practical standpoint, it just makes it easier to check on the fly out in public,
where cranking the volume might be disturbing.
Om a personal note, I cannot stand Jess as a presenter. She throws the pitch of her voice around (which she probably learned to do in a media 101 class, to keep interest) but every sentence she speaks has the same inflections! Same breakdowns, same tonal patterns and I swear, she literally pronounces the last word of every sentence in the *exact* same way. What is supposed to sound dynamic comes off as forced and awkward.
Even something like Siri in iOS sounds more natural than this.
Elephants eh, but will there be a mouse that can be used to scare them?
Yes I also saw that episode of Mythbusters and I was also shocked by the results.
I'm looking forward to the Watch Dogs update. Hopefully I'll be able to take the settings up from medium and still maintain a decent framerate.
As to Far Cry 4's elephants, it makes me remember one of my first times playing Far Cry 3. I was sneaking up on an outpost, planning the perfect approach so as to not set off any alarms. And just when I had lined up my first bow shot, a tiger bounds over my shoulder and runs into the outpost, completely decimating the troops and clearing out the place for me.
Yeah bet the patch is to remove the better graphics from the PC version. They will Probably try and bury the evidence now.
Ubisoft has been absolutely consistent in their whole 'say one thing and do another' strategy of late. Maybe they think they have Jedi mind powers or something... "uplay isn't DRM... You like uplay... uplay is a great online service...". However they must be unskilled because I still feel punished every time uplay launches or, for example, when I wanted to play Watch Dogs the day of its release but couldn't because uplay gave up the ghost and decided IdontPlay.
I just want Ubisoft to fix the online in Watch Dogs. I would like to team up with my friends and go after other fixers online.
FUN! update Jess.....you get better and better at this video stuff......how big is the watch_dogs patch?
Great show as always jess, keep it up.
That elephant stampede obliterating the bag guys' vehicle sure does look awesome.
@rickphoenixxx $299 in australia at least. Games in USA cost $50-60 so Wii U should be under $200 US to equate our $299 8GB price ($419 u get mario kart, 32gb plus free download)
@rickphoenixxx Blah blah blah. Nintendo is fun and unique. I have a PC for everything else.
@pelvist I've had no problems with Watch_Dogs on PC and I haven't had to do anything special.
@pelvist How? I want too, thi is unbearable.
@ffragale1 150$ is waaay too cheap. The main specs aren't the important part with the components they used. These components are faster than the competition in ways that make the Wii U much more comparable to new gen than last.
@elaisse2 the french never say sorry :)
@h_lss Her tone is no more forced or fake than every news anchor ever. She's reading from a screen, it's not going to sound like normal conversation.
@h_lss I agree completely
@aermeus I've never activated a Uplay account and am not denied access to a thing. I can play their games without logging into PSN first. Whatever malevolent restrictions it once had, they don't exist now.
@aermeus They rely on majority of people being too stupid to realize that though ;)
@Mariner32 News for you: the update made it worse. 8(
@KillaGinjaNinja IdontPlay... LOL!
@mfrankcobra Not creepy at all. O.o
@CrillanK Iv had very little problems with it myself but it seems a great many people arent as lucky;
That's what I am getting at though.
There are techniques for talking in front of a camera and reading off a teleprompter.
She knows one. The most basic one, which is to vary your pitch.
However, varying your speech patterns is just as important or you sound like a drone.
As a specific example; the inflection she uses for the final word in every single sentence. A professional news anchor would use that for natural "paragraphs", and maybe when transitioning from one segment to the next. Use it in every single damn sentence though and it sounds ridiculous.
At the end of the day though, she's not important to my request.
Even if you had the best anchor in the business doing this, I'd still prefer to have an option for text only.
