Hard to believe that the same company whose president recently talked enthusiastically about NFTs is the same company where one of their most popular games was temporarily pulled from sale because it was too popular. They could easily continued to sell the game during this recent server congestion and they just...didn't, because it would be unethical to sell people a product they realistically wouldn't be able to enjoy.
The point I think they're trying to get across is this particular section is "scary" because you're vulnerable: you have no means to fight against your pursuer, and getting close to it means instant death. The previous area had an invincible monster as well, but you had a lot more space to avoid it and even being caught by it didn't result in instant death.
So...not only does SE pocket money from Epic for making the game exclusive to the EGS, but they also decide to charge PC players the "next-gen tax" of an extra $10 (compared to the standard $60 of PC releases)?
"...the company indicated that the new cards would most likely cost more than the RTX 2060's original release price of $349."
How much more? A $400 price point would put it at the same MSRP as an RX 5700XT, and (if I remember correctly) the 2060's performance fell short of the 5700XT. I'm not sure if the additional VRAM would be that much of a boon (since we don't know what other improvements it will have).
That said, it's probably a moot point. I imagine this card will suffer the same fate as all the others: bought by scalper bots and resold at 200+% markup on Amazon/Ebay.
Come, now. It's clearly to reimagine the future and make it better. It's totally not them trying to duck facing the public after having their dirty laundry aired throughout 2021.
