Don't worry though, my company does not represent MS, Sony, or any videogame companies for that matter. I hope after reading my statements all throughout this thread that you can trust that. I gained my education in PR and got a career in it-- so I have an intimate understanding of how businesses use media relations to get what they want out of consumers.
It seems like a very reasonable conclusion when you have all that proof up there that Microsoft already voluntarily helped the government spy on millions of American and foreign citizens alike.
The fact that it is hurting their reputation and sales, yet it is the only thing they are standing by so vehemently also contributes to the question about their motivation for requiring it. Seems they could solve all of their PR issues with this system if they just went ahead and sold a version without it included-- but they won't. They even said so as reported in this video.
I'm of the belief that all of the other negative DRM, connectivity and indie restrictions that they have rescinded in interest of appeasing consumers were never planned to be implemented from the start. It takes the attention off of the Kinect. So many people that originally spurned the system are now saying they will buy it thanks to the changes....seems to be working. That is a theory-- but you are talking to someone who works in Public Relations. Companies will do all kinds of crazy sounding shit to gain the public's favor, I kid you not.
Christians are unfortunately on the road to persecution and Muslims have been there for awhile. This is a relevant issue to anyone who enjoys freedom-- whatever form they enjoy the most. We have to ignore our differences and unite to preserve what is rightfully ours. No matter what your religion-- I will ALWAYS fight for your right to practice and believe in it.
