Save? But I'd have to let go of Gears of War, Marios and Gods of Wars in order to "save"? Which . . . would still be saving I guess. .~. I actually have every console (with the exception of a few of Segas) and I like them all except Nintendo's last two. and the the first xbox. Had one at one point . . . tho.
You mean if you have an up to date PC right? Mine can barely play Star Craft 2 . . . or would you say all those essential upgrades will still save me more in the long run compared to consoles? Also. I hardly ever seen anything exclusive to PC that I actually want to play.
What risks? You mean downloading a virus? or the law slapping you down? You're profiting? You've lost me.
Games cost a lot of money to make and have to be sold at more than $50+ in most cases. If you don't pay, then that company/lemonade stand goes under. Then you and the people have no one to go to for your lemonade. At least not AAA quality lemonade. But you may be fine with the non-innovative low budget garbage that results when companies are too scared to try anything new.
If a game is really good that the price "is right."
If a game truly sucks and asks for $50-$60 then just don't buy it.
Because some of us actually care about this pastime/hobby. Because what you're doing makes it less appealing for companies to make games for pc. Because what you're doing makes other companies want to do terrible things like DMR/always online.
Because damn near every two weeks we hear about a gaming company laying off a portion of it's staff.
I know some companies are money grubbing pricks but some actually deserve to be paid for their hard work.
Exactly. Real violence is just so many steps above anything we've been able to fake in our games and movies. the best special effects in most horror movies are still laughable compared to real violence. I really would like to see that added to these discussions of desensitization. Simulated violence does not automatically desensitize you to the real thing.
I grew up on violent movies and games too. But I still was shocked the first time I saw a real close up photo of dead person in a magazine in an auto shop at age 22. It was about some conflict in the middle east, and they just showed someone with half their brain all over the street.
