Every time when an MMO promised a campaign that can be played solo, it has turned out to be shit because this is obviously not the focus of an MMO, so I'm not holding my breath.

Because you end up looking corrupt as hell. Even if you remain unbiased in your work, all anyone sees is that your words were bought and are thus useless and untrustworthy. Especially when countless other sites gladly review games without charging the developers. It makes them look like greedy assholes.

There's absolutely no justification for this. This is a gross breach of basic journalism ethics. We wouldn't tolerate it if GameSpot or IGN used such tactics, so why these guys?

Agreed. This site is equating reviews with ads which is a horrible practice for a million reasons and should be abolished instantly. The most obvious being, of course, is that if you are looking at your review as a means to promote an indie game, then your unbiased argument flies right out the window.

There's still a few games that I haven't played yet most notably Grand Theft Auto V, The Stanley Parable and Gunpoint.

So far, my GOTY is The Swapper.

From my review: Simply put, The Swapper is an astonishing achievement in both game design and visual arts rarely seen in the video game medium and it is easily the top representative of its respective genre.

Other notable mentions include Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes, Fieldrunners 2, Anomaly 2, Sid Meier's Ace Patrol and Sanctum 2.

As reported by Eurogamer.

It's actually a very long article about the CD Projekt Red and their work on The Witcher 3, but I thought this was pretty interesting.

"I don't see a major power difference. The memory is very different but I already said that before. Pure computation power, if you just measure that, there's no major difference."

Both new consoles are like PCs anyway, he added. It won't be until teams really delve into low-level optimisations that the true grunt of each will come out.

"The Xbox One is pretty easy to understand because not just the hardware is similar to the PC, but everything like the SDK, the API is really similar to what you would find on a PC. On PS4 this is a little bit more complicated, but I personally worked on PS3 before.

The last part was particularly interesting and surprising to me. Sony touted the "easy to program for" philosophy regarding PS4 and I've seen a lot of forumites claiming how Xbox One is harder to develop on, but it seems at least one developer still finds Xbox easier to work with. It kind of goes against the general perception of the two systems.

Your thoughts?

@UpInFlames: Wasn't Sanctum 2 that TD/FPS hybrid? If so, I don't know how that made the list. my brother and I played it for one day and were both disgusted we'd spent money on it.

If it wasn't obvious enough, it made the list because I thought it was a great game.

Yeah, considering they did a 180 on practically everything they stood for, I'd say they did do 'almost' everything right.

Consumers still need a Kinect less cheaper SKU and the power difference will never be eliminated, but other than that they have done a remarkable job of listening to me.

P.S These are numbers from 13 territories. PS4 did 1 million in one day in 1 country. 2 if you really want to count Canada. And that too a MS stronghold. Like I said in the OP, it will be interesting to see what Sony manages to do next week when it launches in Europe. Regardless of how impressive this number is, one cannot deny that the successor to the best selling console in NA last gen lost probably half of the market to Sony.

Well now you're just not giving credit where it's due. :)

I think that over time Microsoft might take the lead in North America, but I doubt it's going to be a significant lead. Sony is going to dominate in Europe once again and Japan is so irrelevant I'm not even going to bother with a prediction. I will be very surprised if Sony doesn't come out on top this generation.

Microsoft confirmed that the number is sold through to consumers, not shipped.

Again, impressive. Especially considering the pricepoint and bad press. Even moreso considering that a lot of people (myself included) didn't think that Microsoft could reach Sony's impressive milestone. But as I said back then, Xbox One has a more diverse launch lineup and the Xbox crowd always proved to be rabid indeed.

I now believe even more strongly that the prolonged PS3/360 generation is causing unprecedented demand for new systems.

But maybe Microsoft too "did everything right", huh S0lid? :)

I hope that there is a little more action in a Game of Thrones game than the Walking Dead. I love the Walking Dead games, but they were more about the emotional connection and the choices you make. Would a GoT game translate well if that's what they went for?

Game of Thrones is all about political intrigue, backstabbing, plotting, family relationships, etc...there's actually very little action there. It's much better material for an adventure game than an action game.

Flower, hands down. It's beautiful and basically an extra level.
