Other devs should pay attention to the way Squeenix approached this - breaking the enhancements down like this allows players to use the power how THEY want to use it rather than having it dictated to them.
On a side note, I hope they launch that migration tool soon otherwise my broadband is going to be getting a hammering come November 7th with all the patching I'll be doing.
@Legend_of_Link: I'm hoping it's a pack-in game deal (they announced the Fifa pack-in at the last minute for the XB1 at Gamescom and the Forza pack-in was also announced for the U.S. shortly after, so that hasn't happened '..in a while..'
And the closest games being released to it's launch are Assassin's Creed: Origins and Wolfenstein:TNC...
And there does appear to be a marketing deal with Ubisoft in play...
@chopsbenedict: For games, I'd say you have a point because they rarely run out and unless you buy digitally and want to pre-load there's no really benefit (other than maybe exclusive content in some cases).
Hardware? Different story entirely (just ask anyone who did/didn't get a Switch or a NES Classic).
Plus the vast majority of retailers don't charge you anything other than a deposit until point of sale/dispatch anyway.
@Fandango_Letho: No, they don't. Crash Bandicoot has managed to outsell every other 'exclusive' on PS4, and it looks like that's coming out on everything except me phone.
PS4 had already outsold Xbox 2:1 when the only exclusives it had were 'Knack' and 'Killzone:SF' (both pretty poorly received with Knack being just plain atrocious).
@khanwashere: Okay, this was the weird part - according to the store, it said 1080p/i max. When my TV showed 4K/60, I assumed it was doing a full upscale, because I know it doesn't run at 60fps. Turns out it's doing something in between, according to Digital Foundry.
And at best I can say it looked different from the 1080 version... no necessarily 'better', but certainly different.
