MS didn't kill Rare; they bought them when nobody else thought they were worth the money...
@freeryu: UC4 is probably the best selling exclusive this generation (over 9 million last count), and by a considerable margin, but it still sold nearly 4 times more than it's next nearest 'exclusive' rival on the same system.
By comparison GTAV has sold DOUBLE what UC4 did on the PS4 as did BO3. FIFA 17 has sold nearly 1.5 times UC4's numbers on the same platform.
Minecraft on the PS4 has sold nearly as many as HZD and Nier:Automata COMBINED.
@vanquishre: Except HZD wasn't a 'great success'; it's sold just over 3.5 million units whereas Halo 5 Guardians has sold over 5. It's had very good press, certainly, but in terms of sales it really hasn't done the numbers. On the whole, it's multiplatform titles that really do well, even taken on an individual hardware basis.
And also, based on those sales numbers, it's multiplayer that brings in the cash...
