Why are people so opposed to taxes? It doesn't make sense to me.

Taxes are fair because they are based on income percentage. The poor don't pay as high a percentage as the rich.

This is great because the money the rich pay won't hurt them very much but it will help the poor A LOT! Think of it as a service to your country.

My point is, there should be universal health care because even though it will raise taxes, it will help a lot of people.

Also, paying taxes is good for the economy :) Instead of the government printing more money to pay for things and lowering the value of our dollar, by paying taxes we keep the dollar strong!

not everyone wants to use the services that come from the taxes.

if everything is privitized, theyres competition that lowers prices.

so if I ever need that service, I only need to pay for it when I need it.

Less taxation and a free market help the economy most.

Alright, I live in a white suburban area in the middle of nowhere. I would say my town isliterally %95 white. As a white teenage male, I don't 'really' get discriminated against FOR MY RACE. And ALL the time I see people stepping out of there way to make what they say politically correct. What I don't understand is WHY these words are offensive, and how these words became offensive.

For example, when I speak and I mention a race this is these are the races and how I say them.

Black

Eskimo

Indian

White

Hispanic

Oriental/Asian

Arabic/Middle eastern

Well in my eyes, those are how I percieve races and how they should be. But since when are these "offensive"? Really. It is offensive for me to call someone black, but not offensive for them to call me white? By no means am I a racist, but please people this is rediculous.

the reason things are offensive is because everyone is a little girl about race. Ive said it a million times, get over yourself and your race and then when someone is racist against you it wont bother you. The world will eat you if you let it, and once you understand that youll get by quite well.

The reason racism is so taboo is because people are ALLOWED to freak out about it. If people are ALLOWED to freak out over anything, they will. The bottom line is, I say what I want regardless of whos "feelings" it hurts. Ive told black people that I think theyre their own worst enemies right to there face. Some agree, some get emotional about it and try to convince themselves its white people. I dont care. Keep in mind, it is black people. Not african. Africans can be caucasian, just like middle easterners who are native to africa. Black is the one that makes sense, so deal with it because im not calling them anything different no matter what.

I went to a website to find out about the North American Union and why they were so opposed to it. You wouldn't believe some of the articles I saw on there. I mean I understand the threat to security of Canada, United States, and Mexico, but as for the second article... Wow...

I can't believe that some people are against the North American Union because "It will become way more overcrowded with Hispanic individuals."

Belive me it got a lot more offensive than that, but I won't quote anything because I'd probably be banned from the Forums, but that fact that some people look at Hispanic individuals like this and base the NAU on this fact is just wrong. I have a good friend who is Hispanic and I don't look at him based on his race or nationality at all. I'm pretty good friends with him and we play PS3 on a daily basis.

Even in Canada, Quebec is full of individuals who are French, but they in no way influence or affect me in a bad way.
