So all the publications and gamers whom have said this surpasses the original in every way and fixes its flaws were all lying. Thanks Gamespot for telling me the truth!Fudgycakes
That's what I'm here for!
Seriously, though, I acknowledged that the controls and physics have been vastly improved. I just thought the puzzles were boring this time around. Way too specific with little room to be creative. I enjoyed the open-ended stages from the original much more, even though you could just use wings to solve every level. At least there was room to really be creative if you wanted. I just felt restricted in Super Scribblenauts, so it got old fast.
No don't sacrifice accuracy. But could you give us a heads up like Edge gave us here:http://www.next-gen.biz/news/edge%E2%80%99s-halo-reach-reviewspacesheikh
One last thing and then I'm outta here for real! We post updates in our Reviews Blog when our reviews are going to be late. We'll still get our Reach review out in time for its release.
Its hilarious when reviewers come on a hype thread, and decide to flame a comment made 50 million years ago. Tom, relax.gaming25
Sorry, wasn't meant to be a flame by any stretch. i'm just not sure people understand the logistics of reviews sometime. We don't attend review events, so we have to wait for companies to send us code. We don't post a review until we've seen as much as we possibly can. So, yeah, it kind of irks me when people get upset about our lack of timeliness since I think accuracy is far more important.
Sorry if I came off as flaming before. Just wanted to make sure people understood the situation.
lol, still no review? And to think I almost forgot why I dont take GS scores seriously anymore.XboximusPrime
Would you rather we sacrfice accuracy in order to get our reviews up earlier? We don't attend review events. We got a copy late last week and we've been busting our butts the last few days to get this done as soon as possible, while still playing every mode and permutation as much as possible.
The guy took points off for the announcer being annoying for god's sake lol-RocBoys9489-
You know what would be great? If we had this comprehensive system where we take off a specific amount of points for every defect, and somewhere on the list, "Annoying announcer" required us to take half a point off. That would be pretty amusing, but, of course, that's not how our rating system works. We review the entire experience, and the announcer does take away from the fun. He actively discourages you from making your own entertainment, which is basically the entire point of this unstructured sandbox game. You know how collecting orbs is the best part? When you go off to nab some greens for a few minutes, the announcer yells at you to get back to your job. Yeah, it's kind of funny at first, but after 10 hours, we were shouting at the screen for him to just shut up.
For the record, I never said that you directly criticized "WFC" for its single-player length. I was merely pointing out the lack of consistency when it comes to GameSpot's criterion. You can readily "bash" a game like Splinter Cell: Conviction for its brief campaign and still give it an 8.0, but the generous 15 hour single-player campaign in "WFC" is somehow irrelevant. Sure, I understand that this is just one aspect of a bigger picture. The problem is: which pieces of the picture do you put together and which do you discard come review-time. To me this is what makes GameSpot's reviews inconsistent and unreliable.Game-fu
I spelled out in the text that 15 hours was actually too long because the game drags for so much of the campaign.
And for any transformers fan, this game is definitely made with the fans at mind so dont stray away from it due to this very harsh review.desyple
And that's the problem. It's a good Transformers game but not a very good shooter. I agree that fans of the license will enjoy it, but everyone else has far better alternatives.
I don't get why you keep discussing this. You're trying to sway the opinions of people too stubborn to come to an agreement that your opinion can sometimes conflict with their own. They're never going to budge on this issue no matter how many times you try to justify your reasons for disliking the game.
Better to just let them be.treedoor
Yeah, I know I'm not going to change any minds, but I like to be available if people have questions or complaints about a review. Plus, I hate being misrepresented. I never complained about Cybertron's length so it was weird seeing someone say that.
Whats your personal opinion on the transformers game and the ranking you would give it?Easyle
War for Cybertron? I wrote the GS review. 6.5. Revenge of the Fallen? Never played it.
