@MaxxieDivine Agreed. I can't believe they called it the most infamous misrepresentation of a game in a trailer. Dead Island was the perfect example. The trailer appeals to people interested in the drama and storytelling in video games but the game filled with cheeseball dialogue and insignifigant characters. Remember the first trailer for borderlands? What the hell did that have to do with the game?
@slappylad Well, couldn't they have made an option for sexual orientation in the character creation screen. In reality I don't think gay man would normally approach a straight man like that without knowing.
The only time the gay thing bothered me was with Cortez because they kind of throw it at you regardless of whether or not you've already pursued a romance with a female NPC which should obviously tell this guy I'm not interested in flyin' that way. Had to take renegade points because i didn't want to tell him "I'm here for you".
I think there was a little too much effort put into involving all of the past characters into 3. It should've focused more on reaper origin and cerberus history but instead just leaves most questions to our speculation again. Day one DLC was a big mistake (Gears 3 almost lost a fan) and it happens more often as publishers realize most of the gaming community has no patience and hardcore fans will pay full price on or near release. The most important thing to any narrative driven game should be its finale. Big questions should be answered and it should leave you feeling statisfied but of all 3 possible endings they all practically end the same and in an instant.
"...gamer entitlement, the idea that gamers have the right to do and say without suffering the consequences of their actions." It's not an idea, it's called the 1st amendment. What, I'm gonna get 20 lashings for trashing on Dragon Age Origins? Please...
@Vaasman True. I like how they wrote "gaming community humiliated, defiled, and verbally attacked a female BioWare employee..." Do you think if it were a man they'd say "a male BioWare Employee"? Why specify the sex of the victim like it matters? Like seeing the name Jennifer wasn't enough for us to make a decision on gender.
Customer is always right. I think these developers need a lesson in customer service. Console libraries are polluted with Shooters and Beat-em-Ups. Honestly I don't prefer the Wii but at least nintendo shows some goddam innovation. Games are getting way too lazy and too easy. Don't believe then go ask Call of Duty, Guitar Hero and Assassin's Creed.
It's stupid, some people have the ability to read the dialogue faster than it's said by the characters. Just because a lot of people want the option to skip ahead doesn't mean we don't care for the narrative. Some of us just don't want to hear the cheese-ball voice acting in certain games.
@MafiaMusic All of UC3's graphics are pre-rendered cutscenes, that's how you explain. All the Uncharted series is is an interactive movie. The gameplay is ripped straight from Gears (that's how UC1 was advertised in trailers anyway) and the shooting mechanics are damn near as bad as Kane & Lynch...
