I would really commend Microsoft if they just publicly acknowledged that they've messed up. Updates to Windows 8 can make it a better OS, and they still have time to really fix the Xbox One.

Even though I'm not interested in Xbox One, I really hope Microsoft can pull it together and provide a great console.

@Vixenar @TheManofTin Oh, whoops. Somehow I thought the original budget was 300000 even though I put 400000 in the comment. Regardless, 8 times the amount is still ludicrous!

@rez_1kabir Apparently, EA dropped the whole online pass thing. While it's possible Sony can just not allow any sort of extra fee by a publisher, but I find that highly unlikely. What makes me so skeptical is that Sony keeps giving me this "Wait, something's not right here" vibe. Their whole E3 approach was to just burn MS, but then they come out a few weeks later and say that DRM will be up to the publisher.

@Nescabar I'm sure they're only in it for the money (what company isn't). Little girls don't make lemonade stands because they love the sun and desperately want skin cancer nor does my grandma sell cocaine because she supports the narcotic. To me, Microsoft has never been good at selling a product throughout their history. They've sold their products through convenience (especially in pricing), accessibility and technological innovation. I doubt they've ever had an understanding of the consumer, dating back to when Bill Gates was first toying with Harvard's computers. Microsoft definitely had high ambition, or rather some convoluted vision, with Xbox One, but they have no concept of what their consumer wants or how to sell a product. See: X1, Windows 8, Windows Phone, etc!??!

@UziKill Teenagers with no money? I'm sorry Mr. ImsorichIdontrobbanksbanksrobme, but just who exactly has money these days? Well, "Xbox One is still cheaper than the Atari 5200 was in 2006 dollars", doesn't exactly justify any sort of purchase. And no, I'm not defending Sony, or MS or any other business since I'm not a drone.

This is beyond baffling. Double Fine raised nearly 12 times the amount they needed and now require more? I highly doubt the product will be 12 times better than it would have been on a 400,000 budget. Less is more sometimes. Too much ambition can destroy a work of art.

@BryanParksSuper And just why do you think they're obligated to make a sequel? Beyond Good and Evil, while a great game, was a commercial failure. Seriously, they have absolutely no incentive to do this. The fact that they're actually considering a sequel to a game that barely anyone played is a blessing. I really think you're taking it for granted. Yeah, the game has a fanbase, but it's extremely small and those dedicated consumers alone aren't enough to garner a profit with the sequel. Why stop making a bunch of lazy, uninspired Rabbids games if it's what's bringing in the profit, which if you know how the industry works, is all the matters at the end of the day? Rayman Origins didn't sell enough and they're gambling their luck with Rayman Legends. It's sad when a company like Ubisoft tries to make great games, but they're stuck with making annual Assassins' Creeds and Rabbid games in order to bring the food on the table.

He's truly overhyping vaporware at this point.
