[QUOTE="TheGrayEye"]Did the original have a D-Day mission like Saving Private Ryan?gotcha455

Nope. The second one had one, but I've never played that game.

Actually, it wasn't at all like Saving Private Ryan. You start off having to climb up the side of a cliff. From there, you proceed into some trenches and flank around behind some machine gun nests and then head into a forest to take out an ammo depot or something of the sort.

I have not played Diablo or NWN, but I have played Baldur's Gate. It's a good game, with really excellent leveling perks and skills, but it's so hard to do and so repetitive, that unless you're very into games like that, then I wouldn't bother. Most people say Diablo is the best. Plus, it doesn't take a good machine to play.

I would say either Tabula Rasa or Hellgate: London. I've yet to play either. Hellgate didn't get the best reviews, but a lot of that is stability issues. If you could get it running, you might find something you like in it.

I don't think the PC would be good for 3D or 2D fighters. Something to take into consideration is the amount of button mashing many people do in those games. It could potentially ruin a keyboard after a while. Also, the level of movement control from the keys is very limited. To me, it seems, the only way to get smooth gameplay would be to buy a controller.

I recommend it. It was the first real PC game I bought. I played it for 2 and a half years. It never got old. There's a huge mod community where you can always download new maps, skins, and gametypes. The actual gameplay is fast and frentic. Expect to have to move constantly and jump around. Lots of death and explosions. The graphics are still on par with some of the stuff that's still being released today, and it doesn't even take a GREAT computer to play it. I give it a 9.7/10. (Plus, it's only about $15 now.)
